Responsibilities:
Performs product development creates open -toed footwear products. 
Produces a high level of output typically consisting of 15 concepts per season for 5-6 projects.
Utilizes merchandise briefs to create footwear concepts
Sketches and renders footwear ideas

Essential Qualities:

Must have footwear construction knowledge
Some one hard working and versatile, who understands how to take trends and make them work for footwear.
Interest and/or experience in surf lifestyle/background a plus. 
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Product Confirmation: Responsible for maintaining timelines for entire product creation process for their assigned segment of the business. Seek input from Americas, APAC and EU internal and external business partners and other relevant contacts when initiating the Global line planning process.  Responsible for communicating line plans, hero products and merchandising collections to Brand Marketing / Catalog Dept.

Consumer Interaction: The primary focus of a PLM is to meet the unique product needs of an assigned category.  This dictates consumer interaction with strategically selected travel (for example, two days to be spent at retail, working on the sales floor; three days to be spent directly with consumers in other settings, e.g., events or focus groups).  Expand the already held, knowledge of this category&apos;s true target market.  Must demonstrate the distinctions between retailer and end consumer.

Team and Testing Interaction: A unique element of the snowboard binding segment will be the need for interaction with our team of sponsored riders as well as our team of testers. Their feedback is a critical element of both line planning and product development. As PLM you will gather and organize all team and testing feedback.

Product Quality Assurance: As the manager of a new category for DC it will be your responsibility to oversee product quality. Close and thorough attention to product quality at every step in design, development, and production will be required.

Strategic Planning: Responsible for developing the product segment of DC&apos;s categorical strategic plans; which includes but is not limited to creating a 3 -5 year revenue and sku plan that will meet or exceed their category targets. Targets will be set by Divisional SVP detail will be executed by the PLM.

Product Line Planning: Responsible for keeping and updating on a timely basis their selected product line plans for their category.  Accountable for keeping the Product line plans well-synchronized with the marketing strategy.  Assist the Divisional SVP, Design Director/VP and Creative Director in the marketing and Strategic Line Planning processes. Responsible for initiating all communication with Global PLM Team to insure that their needs are being executed in the Global Line.

Product Briefing: Provide Design and Development with timely, visual and factual cues to motivate and inspire them in the product process.  Briefing should be achieved through formal seasonal presentations and/or ongoing informal interaction with the Design and Development team from line conceptualization all the way through to product confirmation.

Product Presentation: Responsible for the presentation of their product lines to various audiences such as Key Accounts, Sales and Upper Management at key events such as:  Pre-Lines, Sample Reviews, Sales Meetings.  You are the DC product expert for your category!

Product Pricing and Profitability: Responsible for communicating the seasonal pricing goals of their line.  Ultimate costing decisions are outside the responsibility of the PLM.  However they will collaborate with theirs peers in Design, Development, Production and Sales on pricing and provide input when appropriate.


Requirements

*	Technical Background: 5 - 10 years snowboard or action sports industry exposure preferred.  Excellent product sense, proven brand and business management skills, strong marketing skills, organization skills, general business acumen.

Responsibilities:

Product Confirmation: Responsible for maintaining timelines for entire product creation process for their assigned segment of the business.  Communicate with Director of Snowboard Hardgoods to make day-to-day product decisions along with their Design, Development, Production and Sales counterparts.  Seek input from Americas, APAC and EU internal and external business partners and other relevant contacts when initiating the Global line planning process.  Responsible for communicating line plans, hero products and merchandising collections to Brand Marketing / Catalog Dept.

Consumer Interaction: The primary focus of a PLM is to meet the unique product needs of an assigned category.  This dictates consumer interaction with strategically selected travel (for example, two days to be spent at retail, working on the sales floor; three days to be spent directly with consumers in other settings, e.g., events or focus groups).  Expand the already held, knowledge of this category&apos;s true target market.  Must demonstrate the distinctions between retailer and end consumer.

Team and Testing Interaction: A unique element of the snowboard segment will be the need for interaction with our team of sponsored riders as well as our team of testers. Their feedback is a critical element of both line planning and product development. As PLM you will gather and organize all team and testing feedback.

Product Quality Assurance: As the manager of a new category for DC it will be your responsibility to oversee product quality. Close and thorough attention to product quality at every step in design, development, and production will be required.

Strategic Planning: Responsible for developing the product segment of DC&apos;s categorical strategic plans; which includes but is not limited to creating a 3 -5 year revenue and sku plan that will meet or exceed their category targets. Targets will be set by Divisional SVP detail will be executed by the PLM.

Product Line Planning: Responsible for keeping and updating on a timely basis their selected product line plans for their category.  Accountable for keeping the Product line plans well-synchronized with the marketing strategy.  Assist the Divisional SVP, Design Director/VP and Creative Director in the marketing and Strategic Line Planning processes. Responsible for initiating all communication with Global PLM Team to insure that their needs are being executed in the Global Line.

10%	                           
Product Briefing: Provide Design and Development with timely, visual and factual cues to motivate and inspire them in the product process.  Briefing should be achieved through formal seasonal presentations and/or ongoing informal interaction with the Design and Development team from line conceptualization all the way through to product confirmation.

5%	                         
Product Presentation: Responsible for the presentation of their product lines to various audiences such as Key Accounts, Sales and Upper Management at key events such as:  Pre-Lines, Sample Reviews, Sales Meetings.  You are the DC product expert for your category!

10%	                        
Product Pricing and Profitability: Responsible for communicating the seasonal pricing goals of their line.  Ultimate costing decisions are outside the responsibility of the PLM.  However they will collaborate with theirs peers in Design, Development, Production and Sales on pricing and provide input when appropriate.

*	Technical Background: 5 - 10 years snowboard or action sports industry exposure preferred.  Excellent product sense, proven brand and business management skills, strong marketing skills, organization skills, general business acumen.    
*	Education: Marketing or Business Degree preferred.
*	Service Track Record:  Proven project management record    
*	Staff Development Abilities: Strong Analytical and Market skills     
*	Overnight international air travel required.
*	Extensive use of computer (Word, Excel, Power Point, Illustrator) and calculator
