Art of Board Careers and Employment in San Clemente, CA

In 2004 Art of Board founder, Rich Moorhead, stumbled on a few broken skateboard decks that belonged to his nephew. While admiring the graphic art destined for landfill, there was a connection between his creative passion and love for skateboarding. So, rather than toss the decks, he put his carpentry skills to the test and made a picture frame. Since then, the Art of Board concept has taken on many forms: magnets, coasters, mirrors and tables. Today, Art of Board has evolved into a full-service tile and design company. In 2009 Rich, along with partner Bruce Boul, started the first-ever national grassroots skate deck recycling movement – I Ride I Recycle. I Ride I Recycle keeps broken decks out of landfills and into Art of Board’s designs. The movement has recycling locations throughout North America, which include skateshops, parks and action sports manufacturers and retailers.
