Incipio, LLC, one of the OC’s fastest growing and most dynamic companies is looking for a highly motivated Product Development Manager who is responsible for overseeing development objectives. The Product Development Manager (PDM) Product Developers at Incipio ensure products progress in the development phase, from initial design concept through commercialization. Organizational skills are essential. This is a highly collaborative position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

· Execute to the Product Development Calendar, following best practices as defined by Incipio Product Development Processes

· Maintain thorough documentation on all products through all phases of development including Costing, Tooling, Product Specifications, Artwork, Etc.

· Communicate specifications and product details with the Supply Base including Sourcing Agents, Suppliers, and Sub-Suppliers

· Collaborate with Sourcing on Global Product Costing including Cost Charts, Product Cost Evaluations, Material Market Reviews, Currency Exchange Reviews, Cost Negotiations to exceed Target Margin expectations

· Coordinate the Development of New Product, Resourced Product, or Sourced Product by managing the flow of information and documentation between Product Design, Engineering, Product Managers, and Manufacturing Partners

· Partner with Sourcing/Operations to develop Sourcing Strategy and Thought Process that coincides with the Long-Term Product Strategy

· Maintain a Product Material Database/Library

· Contribute to the refinement of development, engineering, and specifications processes

· Assist in evaluating all development samples against the tech pack specifications for design accuracy, and functionality

· Partner cross-functionally to ensure Timely delivery of Product Information, Sales Samples, and Production within the Product Calendar

· Partner with Incipio sourcing partners and/or QC Team to ensure Product Quality/Integrity surpasses Incipio Reliability Standards

· Domestic/International Travel to build, maintain, and grow Manufacturing Partnerships (partnering with Factory counterparts for improved communication)

· Collaborates with Quality Team to achieve resolutions of quality issues through technical knowledge of various manufacturing methods

Qualifications and Skills

· 2-5 years experience in hard goods product development (soft goods experience acceptable)

· Strong understanding of overseas sourcing and various manufacturing methods including injection molding, metalwork, cut and sew, etc

· Ability to work with a broad range of functions and individuals toward a common goal

· Must have a track record in executing to procedures and processes

· Competency in Solidworks and Adobe Illustrator helpful

· Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

· Available for 25% Travel
