As a for profit business, we use the sale of an array of apparel and accessories to connect consumers with park conservancies. Each product purchased contributes directly to one of over 40 different conservancies across the USA, providing vital funding for the ongoing care of National Parks.?

The Big Picture
Parks Project is seeking a motivated and well-organized accountant. This is an opportunity to work directly with the Controller to support a thriving and growing business. You will gain exposure to a wide variety of functions, working with internal and external stakeholders to create best-in-class processes. Our product ranges from t-shirts/fleece to headwear to home goods. Potential candidates must be driven, focused, and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities
• Contribute to the monthly financial closing process in QuickBooks Online while increasing ownership and process improvement.
o Reconcile all bank statements and transactions
o Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable balances
o Maintain schedules and record journal entries related to the following areas: prepaid expenses, depreciation, accrued expenses, interest payments, and credit card fees
o Assist in recording cost of goods sold and inventory entries
o Maintain and organize working papers
• Prepare all bills using Bill.com and follow up with vendors as needed
• Closely manage our accounts receivable process, sending out invoices and following up customers on past due balances
• Manage all quarterly donations and process payments to our non-profit partners
• Maintain data in our ERP and assist in reporting on cost variances and margin improvements
• Help create annual budgets and forecasts, reporting variance back to internal stakeholders on a regular basis
• Assist with cash flow forecasting ad hoc financial reporting projects
• Manage sales tax filings with various states as needed
• Dispute chargebacks from customers and help correct any process failures

About You
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Not afraid to take risks and implement process improvements
• Able to take ownership of job duties and clearly report progress to managers
• Well-organized and capable of maintaining multiple projects at once
• Attention to detail and comfortable working with large amounts of data



Requirements
• The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
• 2-4 years of experience working in finance or accounting or other relevant industries
• Experience working with Quickbooks Online, Excel, and Bill.com
• Consumer package goods industry experience specifically with apparel is a plus
• Proficiency in consumer products, ERP’s, and Avalara a plus
• Strong project management skills; highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking and time management
• Passion for the outdoors a plus!
