General Summary
La Jolla Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounts Receivable Representative/Collection Specialist to be a part of a diverse credit and collections team with functionality and responsibility across multiple apparel brands within the action sports/active lifestyle industries.
The Accounts Receivable Representative position is tasked with working productively and efficiently as a member of an established A/R team to maintain, improve and report on all related A/R balances, processes and results. This person will contribute to maintaining excellent relationships with our valued customer base and sales team utilizing all available tools to ensure a strong collection effort and compliance with all A/R department policies with an emphasis on maximizing company profitability and minimizing credit risk.
Essential Job Functions
• Create, analyze and monitor A/R aging to prioritize collection effort.
• Build and maintain positive and professional working relationships across internal departments and with external customers to discuss and resolve any outstanding A/R items.
• Phone and email contact with customers to ensure the timely collection of outstanding receivables.
• Perform regular follow-up review with AR Management to identify areas of concern and opportunity. Communicate findings with management and across departments.
• Investigation and timely resolution of a high volume of customer payment deductions (chargebacks) in a retail/wholesale environment.
• Process customer credit card payments to offset open invoice balances.
• Process credit/debit memo requests in order to bill customers and/or offset open AR items.
• Assist with cash posting in ERP system.
• Support periodic internal and external bank audit activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to analyze and identify potential customer credit risk factors and act appropriately.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles is a plus.
• Experience with investigating and resolving a high volume of customer deductions in a retail/wholesale environment.
• Whole problem solver. Suggest and support solutions to solve root cause problems. Strong analytical skills.
• Strong written, oral and facilitation skills.
• Tactful communication to facilitate the resolution of AR balances and discrepancies; Conveys information in understandable terms at all levels of the organization.
• Experience working with a bank factor is a plus.
• Full Circle ERP experience is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
Required Education and Experience
• 2 years' experience in all aspects of Credit, Collections and Accounts Receivable.
*Please note that this is a "Flexible Remote" position. This position will require the employee to work 1 day per month in the Irvine, Ca office.

Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
