Position: Sports Marketing Manager
How You Will Make a Difference
The Sports Marketing Manager will manage Altra’s events and athlete relationships. Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Brand Marketing, the Sports Marketing Manager’s goal will be to credential the performance of our products with athletes and drive awareness of the brand with In Real Life experiences/events. They will work closely with members of the marketing and creative team and field service team to create and execute athlete and event activation plans. A successful candidate will create clear KPI’s for their programs, measure success, report on results and be able to draw insights about what is working and we should continue, and what isn’t that we should stop, plus stay on the forefront of running culture and events to generate new ideas.
What you will do:
Events
! Set the event strategy and long-term event vision.
! Oversee the strategy, identification and execution of Altra events.
! Ideate and execute how Altra will activate at core events.
! Be the on-site leader for all primary event sponsorships including booth set-up, management and event activation.
! Create clear measures for each event, recap them, and make suggestions for how we can optimize them.
! Negotiate the contracts for events and ensure we execute against the contract.
Athletes
! Develop relationships with athletes to ensure they are promoting the Altra brand and are integrated into Altra’s overall Marketing initiatives to fully leverage their impact, plus make them feel supported and a part of the Altra family.
! Work with the integrated marketing team to develop athlete and running moment storytelling opportunities that build awareness and performance credibility for the brand. Execute with a variety of cross-functional teams (marketing, product and creative), to ensure excellence in execution.
! Work with senior marketing leadership and manager to scout and recruit new talent, and support contract negotiation of new and existing athletes.
! Manage the athlete activation calendar with appearances, content needs, race schedules etc.
! Be the primary point of contact for the athletes after the contract is complete to ensure activation plans are executed and the athletes have clear briefs and directions for how to execute on behalf of the brand.
! Act as the primary Altra contact for key athletes and work closely with their agents to define and ensure execution of deliverables.
! Own and gather input from Global and Regional teams to ensure alignment across the marketing calendar.
! Work alongside European and Asian teams for global brand moment activation at global events such as UTMB for things such as athlete uniforms, booth group runs, apparel outfits each day + detailed itinerary, and look at a global athlete and event strategy. Execution of the strategy is done at a regional level.
! Build best practice global toolkits and plans to support key moments.
! Work with the product team to ensure we’re using the athletes for product testing and feedback.
Overall

Pay Range:
$82,080.00 USD - $123,120.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential:
This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
