Apparel DesignerNike, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Lead product design processes to ensure design deliverables and timelines are met. Work with collaborators, leading concept explorations, providing prototype sampling information, including fabrication, trim, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements, and construction detail. Monitor the development of prototype samples and interact with Nikes development, pattern making, material, and sample room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion of each project. Maintain and continually expand upon expert knowledge of current trends, color, and consumer-related products through market travel and research. Provide mentorship and leadership to other designers, team members and share knowledge, experience, skills, and best practices with others. Drive the category creative direction through apparel design and innovations that are trend-relevant to the Nike consumer. Conceptualize and create seasonal collections, working with manufacturers, to working directly with athletes and collaborators. Up to 15% domestic and international travel is required. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Applicant must have a Bachelors degree in Fashion, Graphic Design, or Product Design and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a design-related occupation. Experience must include:
Product creation, such as, design and manufacturing;
Adobe photoshop;
Adobe illustrator;
Adobe Indesign;
Advanced sketching;
Fashion construction;
Color theory;
Graphic execution; and
Advanced material understanding.
