Now one of the fastest growing men’s fashion brands, Buttercloth is looking for the next superstar to join our design team.
Launched in just 2017 with a revolutionary fabric for men’s shirts, Buttercloth has dramatically grown both revenue and categories every year. Current collections include Polos, Sweaters, T-Shirts, Jackets, Outerwear, and Underwear – and we are introducing Socks, Shorts, and a Women’s collection next year. *** Candidate must be located in the Southern Los Angeles / Orange County area. This position is full time on-site (non-remote) ***
How You Will Make a Difference:
-- You’ll develop new garments across all men’s product categories (shirts, polos, t-shirts, shorts, pants, denim, outerwear, sweaters, underwear, etc.).
-- You will develop and maintain tech-packs in Excel.
-- You’ll proactively manage development tracking tools and provide transparent status on fabric, trim, and garment samples.
-- You will maintain the development calendar to ensure TNA deadlines are met.
-- You will organize and maintain a library of samples.
-- You’ll evaluate samples in collaboration with our designers prior to fittings.
-- You will communicate design aesthetics and fit sample status with vendors.
-- You’ll uphold Buttercloth quality & testing standards of materials and finished garments.
-- You will own the development process from conceptual design, through TOP stage.
-- You’ll be the liaison between Design & Production team
-- You will be the champion of our costing process, including margin management and cost negotiations with vendors.
-- You will effectively maintain strong partnerships and communication with internal and external stakeholders at all stages of product development.
What You Bring:
-- You’re a “big thinker,” able to identify & resolve development issues that may arise.
-- You have a degree in Apparel with 4+ years hands on experience in Apparel Product Development.
-- You are proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
-- You have experience with knits, fittings, apparel construction, and comfort in judging print / design repeat / color.
-- You are well versed in apparel development & communication with overseas manufacturers.
-- You are entrepreneurially driven with effective interpersonal, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
-- You are capable of handling multiple assignments with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
-- You can operate independently while establishing effective partnerships with cross-functional teams.
-- You exhibit the agility to support ongoing brand innovation.
