Current Opportunity:
Beachbody LLC (makers of P90x, Insanity, and Shakeology) is seeking an Apparel Sourcing Manager. This position is the key collaborative link between the Operations department, vendors and cross-functional team members to assure the proper execution of apparel and support the broader apparel strategic goals. This is a leadership role, heavily involved with sourcing and managing relationships with key suppliers to ensure that vendors meet product requirements and delivery objectives in improved costs, quality, secured supply and timely commercialization of product.
The Apparel Sourcing Manager will lead new initiatives related to apparel and vendor negotiations, and keep all stakeholders informed of project direction and status through written and verbal communication.
About Your Duties:
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Providing direction for all product creation teams to assure proper execution of all prototypes/samples in set timelines.
- Communicating the design direction and its technical translation to suppliers to enable them to create the requested product in the requested lead times and the needed execution and price level.
- Mapping the Apparel Production Division's needs and driving the development and execution of an apparel sourcing strategy for all collections to meet the company objectives relating to quality, volume, cost, delivery and style of sourced products.
- Continuously improving and re-evaluating the purchasing activities concerning private label apparel.
- Planning and directing activities concerned with translating designs into standardized tech packs.
- Evaluating and leading opportunities to decrease lead times and determine cost effective solutions.
- Planning and managing RFQ process.
- Effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Working closely with project management to identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Maintaining status reports that allow high level visibility into project status.
- Proactively managing changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Maintaining positive, productive relationships with all departments within Operations, Business Leadership and suppliers.
- Leveraging internal resources to ensure the effective delivery of initiatives.
- Building, developing, and growing any vital business relationships within and outside the organization.
- Conducting project post mortems and creating a “recommendations report” in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
About Your Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- Four-year college degree and two years of relevant experience.
- Apparel background is very desirable.
- Strong Apparel Development Technical Experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word.
- Attention-to-detail and organized.
- Well-developed time management skills.
- Strong communications skills.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Must thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to self-manage and operate with minimal supervision and handle assignments that are complex and urgent in nature.
