OEM National Sales Manager
Reports to: Senior Sales Manager/Bike Division
Location: Irvine, CA
General Summary:
An OEM National Sales Manager will demonstrate significant and ever-increasing skills to manage an OEM Sales Team focused on the achievement of national level goals. This challenging position is crucial to the on-going growth and future development of our OEM and Aftermarket sales programs. The candidate we look for will play a significant key role in the creation and execution of an aggressive growth plan in our market.
This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic sales and promotional plans with the primary focus of increasing the specification of Shimano products with our OEM partners.
The ideal OEM manager possesses an innate knowledge and appreciation of the vitalness of working closely and collaboratively with management and customers, as well as coordination with internal departments domestically in meeting sales goals.
Essential Job Functions:
• Develop and achieve detailed sales forecasts & sales reports for OEM sales
• Compile and analyze data to reveal opportunities and weaknesses
• Collect Spec Data from OEM partners
• Prepare & execute a detailed sales plan for each customer
• Be the trusted source for customers for all Shimano issues
• Work with product managers on customer goals and determine ways to integrate Shimano products
• Build, develop, and strengthen relationships with our customers
• Work with affiliated Shimano offices to coordinate meetings, forecasts, and future sales strategies
• Actively contribute to Shimano programs in internal meetings
• Through research and relationships with OEM’s and retailers, give input to product management team about new products, opportunities, innovations
• Communicate with Shimano factories worldwide to coordinate delivery and other production related issues
Job Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree
• Minimum 5 years proven industry sales experience
– OEM sales
• Minimum 5 years experience developing customer relationships
• Minimum 5 years experience managing employees
• Bike knowledge (both technical 7 general industry knowledge)
• Work with OEM from product conception to promotion in market
• Translates technical features and benefits into something that buyer can see as “selling points”
• Demonstrate past work with international partners to create sales and marketing plans
• Effective and professional presentation skills
• Strong writing, organizational, and problem solving skills
• PC literate (Excel, PowerPoint, AS400)
• Self-motivated and a team player
• Ability to prioritize and meet crucial deadlines
• Retail and wholesale experience a plus
• Minimum 50% travel, to include some international
