Job Objective:
Under general supervision, is responsible for the creation and execution of all aspects of visual branding relating to the ThirtyTwo brand as well as other new potential NDK projects within the required deadlines. Collaborate with the ThirtyTwo Design team in a team-oriented environment, while leading the team to achieve unity and cohesiveness of the brand’s aesthetic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Plan visual branding objectives
2. Collaborate with brand, creative and marketing team to create brand visuals that are in line with strategic direction.
3. Create design/visual concepts for all media relating to brand (i.e., print ads, video advertising, apparel branding, packaging, website, P.O.P., logos, letterheads, catalogues, consumer flyers, print collateral, motion graphics, video content, etc…)
4. Present all visual branding concepts to executive team, directors, brand managers, and ThirtyTwo Brand Group.
5. Create visual design branding briefs/booklets for all depts.
6. Create design briefs for freelance t-shirt artists, photographers, etc…
7. Lead all photo shoots and provide photo direction to all photographers
8. Continuous involvement with all areas of brand product development (Footwear R&D, Apparel Design) as well as P.O.P. and marketing groups to ensure that the ThirtyTwo Brand Group is working cohesively in the same direction in order to achieve a consistent aesthetic of the brand.
9. Complete all visual branded materials (i.e., advertising, website design, catalogue design, t-shirts, P.O.P., packaging, consumer flyers, Visual Dept. requests, etc…) relating to the ThirtyTwo brand as well as other new potential NDK projects within the specified deadlines.
10. Manage team of graphic designer coordinating all ThirtyTwo visual projects.
11. Prepare and coordinate printing with printers to ensure all printing details are understood, most cost-efficient methods have been considered, and deadlines are met.
12. Commission freelance artists when necessary.
Education and/or Experience Required
• 6+ years exp as Art Director or Sr. level Graphic Designer specializing in campaign and brand visual design.
• Experience in Action Sports
• Experience in leading a small to medium size art department including graphic designers, photographers, and videographers.
• MFA or BFA in Graphic Design
• 4+ yrs experience in Digital Media
• Advanced knowledge Adobe Cloud
Preferred
• Must have in deep knowledge of snowboard / skate culture and core market
• Advanced knowledge in web applications and executions
• Advanced knowledge of digital marketing and executions
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Requires knowledge of how an art department or ad agency works.
• Must also be able to work with multi-departments as well of how a photo studio functions.
• Must possess strong organization skills.
• Have ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at once as well as be deadline oriented.
• Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Skills required include use of knowledge of photography equipment, computers and fluent in Photoshop. Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and work under constant and competing deadlines.
