Overview:
Agron, Inc. is the exclusive US license for adidas Accessories. Our products include bags, backpacks, hats, socks, and underwear. Product Marketing establishes the marketing and business strategy to achieve a product line that delivers target net sales, net margin, and SKU productivity goals. They help establish short and long-term goals and strategy for the category to ensure brand vision and category objectives are met. Product Marketing manages the product lifecycle from creation to launch.
This position reports into the Category Manager, Headwear with a dotted line into the VP of Marketing. The position is based at our office in Los Angeles, California; relocation is not included. Agron offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days mandatory in office (M/T/Th) and 2 days WFH (W/Fri).
Background on the position: Assistant Product Manager for Headwear
The purpose of this position is to assist in the creation of brand-inspired, consumer-right hats and knit headwear based on the strategy and goals set by the Category Manager. The key accountabilities of the position are to see through the product line deliverables working together with the designer, developer, marketing and sales team members. The nature of the work is focused on consumer insights, assortment planning, data analysis and product management activities across both the Performance and Originals adidas brandmarks.
Position Details:
- Responsible for assisting the creation of integrated, profitable, and relevant product assortments and expressing the category vision.
- Analyzes and helps guide market needs based on consumers, customers, competition, and channels to assort relevant seasonal product line plans.
- Manages creation calendar dates, deadlines and product timelines.
- Owns PTC (product data) work, catalog copy, margin accuracy, responsible for building sales analyses and other data sheets to analyze business.
- Assists in developing the necessary consumer research and market research to guide decisions.
- Participates in functional discussions and initiatives across departments; notes details, changes and follow up steps plus maintains accurate database and Vibe IQ presentation decks.
- Builds support tools to ensure product initiatives and product details are effectively communicated to the Sales force and other relevant groups.
- Prepares for meetings, sets showrooms, watches out for color, style and consumer trends.
- Provides regular updates of marketplace realities (product and merchandising needs, consumer insights and competition landscape).
- Will travel to focus groups and adidas HQ; expect minimum of two to four trips per year
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Marketing or a related field
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
- Creative, athletic, flexible, quick-learner, self-motivated, team player and problem solver
- Strong information seeking skills and drive to make things happen; ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and good time management skills
- Strong organizational, leadership and presentation skills
- Strong athletic brand and consumer understanding and ability to envision a premium consumer experience from product concept through in-store presence.
- Experienced in PowerPoint, Excel and collaborative digital platforms; able to learn new systems and pivot between them fluidly.
