The Breakdown:

As the Athlete & Ambassador Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing Burton’s America’s athletes & ambassadors programs. This position will lead the relationship between the Burton Brand and Burton athletes & ambassadors, ultimately ensuring that the Burton community receives the best-in-class service. This position will work cross collaboratively with Japan, Europe, & OZ/NZ managers as well as the Global Team Manager.

Propose, maintain and manage the America’s best team of athletes and ambassadors.

Contribute to additionally helping and servicing Burton’s Global Athlete & Ambassadors.

Collaborate with Global Team Management to carry out Burton’s Global Athlete and Ambassador strategy.

Collaborate with the Global Brand Marketing & Product Merchandizing Team to align athletes and ambassadors to marketing campaigns.

!
Foster the relationship between athletes & ambassadors and internal product / merchandizing managers to ensure riders feedback is building the brand’s products.

!
Work with product team to ensure that athletes have custom products, built for their specific needs and fit their riding style, while ensuring the appropriate graphics and colorways are utilized per team rider based on product marketing strategy. â?¯Usher these projects through the Burton system with a goal of bringing the rider’s project to market.

!
Travel with athletes & ambassadors to collect, capture, and curate content with Team Riders that can be used on Burton channels. Also, work with athletes & ambassadors to curate content remotely.

!
Ensure all products are shipped from the warehouse and Craig’s to athletes in a timely manner and in line with the team budget.

!
Ensure that athletes & ambassadors are reviewing and contributing feedback to relevant marketing and product projects.

!
Promote athletes & ambassadors’ creativity internally for product, sales, and marketing to be inspired by creativity, design, and functionality.

!
Oversee sample orders and PO placement to ensure athletes & ambassadors have future seasons products to wear during the season.

!
Develop and execute brand promotions, marketing activations, media opportunities utilizing athletes & ambassadors and liaise with partnerships, events, social, public relations, brand, and digital teams to ensure consistency.

Plan and execute all travel and logistics for athletes & ambassadors for contests, events, tours, activations and photoshoots while providing on-site support.

!
Travel with athletes & ambassadors to major contests, events, tours, activations and photoshoots to guarantee riders’ needs are being met, ultimately providing best in class service for Burton’s athletes.

Act as the liaison and host between athletes & ambassadors when they come to the global headquarters in Burlington Vermont.

!
Communicate Burton’s seasonal marketing plan to athletes & ambassadors and encourage them to promote Burton campaigns.

!
Scout and recruit new athletes & ambassadors, from up-and-coming riders to top tier professional snowboarders and friends of the brand.

!
Develop and maintain relationships with members of the media (photographers, filmers, editors, industry, and agents).

!
Build lifelong relationships with athletes & ambassadors to establish a line of trust in order to mentor them and help them focus.

!
Keep and up-to-date calendar of all athlete & ambassadors’ schedules.

!
Work with Global Team Manager to provide updates on athletes / ambassadors to the company and senior team.

!
Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to The Team:

!
Must be a highly organized self-starter and team player with polished presentation and interpersonal skills.

!
A passion for something outside the workplace including but not limited to: snowboarding, action sports, and the outdoors is required.

!
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education experience is required. A focus in business, marketing or communication is encouraged.

!
4 – 6 years of athlete management experience preferred.

!
True expertise in market value for athletes, negotiation tactics with agents, and the highest-level grasp of all that is going on in snowboarding.

!
Finger on the pulse of snowboarding: candidate must be an expert in knowing who’s coming up, who’s making a name for themselves, who rides for what brands, who’s filming with whom, who is going to be the next person or individual, and must be able to create relationships where necessary.â?¯

!
Experience with SAP, M3, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Applications Photo & Video Editing programs are a plus.

Our HQ is based in Burlington, Vermont. We will offer relocation assistance to any candidate who is hired if they are able to move to Burlington. The person hired will be expected to travel to Burton locations in the US and internationally on a regular basis.
