Successful 7 figure Northern California bicycle shop looking for an experienced store manager.
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Store Manager manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the store, including sales, service, staffing, training and profits. Supervises and manages all store personnel, including implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures and corporate directives. Maintains effective corporate office business partner relationships. Establish control-related standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Opening/closing store
- Recruits, hires, develops and retains store personnel
- Trains and motivates associates to achieve maximum sales productivity
- Manages store scheduling to ensure proper coverage based on business needs
- Maintains payroll and store expenses within established budget
- Assists the General Manager in the formulation of promotional activities and related advertising content. Coordinates all support activities for promotions.
- Schedules and administers ongoing sales training activities including vendor rep clinics and sales technique training.
- Communicates with General Manager regarding all employee discipline concerns
- Works with service personnel to develop and implement effective service policies
- Works with buyers to maintain a well stocked inventory
- Ensures proper sales promotional set-up of store and maintenance of sales floor and stock room to create a neat, clean and well presented store
- Ensures compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, standards and practices and company directives including company security and shrink policies/programs and proper banking procedures
- Ensures, through effective customer service and direct selling, that sales plans are achieved
Required Skills
** Management of 4 or more sales associates during shifts
** Regularly interacts with the public in an often crowded and noisy interactive store environment
** Standing required for entire work shift
** Operate office equipment (i.e., computers, phone, fax and copier)
** Must work weekend shifts
** Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed
Required Experience
++ 3+ Years of Related Management Experience
++ Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two years related retail or service-oriented experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
++ Previous bicycle management experience preferred
