Want to be a Graphic Designer for a world-renown skateboard company?
One of, if not the most innovative and sought after skateboard manufacturer in the world, NHS, Inc. was established over 40 years ago in Santa Cruz, California. Our brand names include Santa Cruz, Independent Truck Company, Creature Skateboards, Krux Trucks, Bullet, Ricta Wheel Dynamics, Mob Grip, Flip, Skateboards, OJ Wheels, Road Rider, Rayne Longboards and Nor Cal.
Position Type: Full Time, In House, Hourly Position near the beach in Santa Cruz, California
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
You will work directly with Art Directors and Brand Managers and be responsible for the conceptualization and execution of a variety of design projects. You will be expected to create consistently innovative, on-brand designs that support each of our brands unique identities and creative direction. Primary responsibilities include graphic design for printable apparel and skate hardgoods, design and layout of marketing collateral and catalogs.
WHAT YOU NEED:
• Able to work 40+ hours in our Santa Cruz, CA office (no telecommuting)
• Passion for skateboarding and familiarity with NHS brand portfolio
• Digital portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities and aesthetic
• College degree in Graphic Design/Art or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years experience in design industry
• Advanced knowledge of the principles of graphic design including conceptualization, layout and file preparation for production ready artwork
• Familiarity with pre-press process
• Familiarity with screen-printing process and color separations
• Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Advanced knowledge of post-production techniques including color correction and clipping paths
• Organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with solid communication skills
• Able to work independently to prioritize projects and manage workload
• Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet daily and weekly deadlines
• Team player with a great attitude and the ability to embrace the goals of the NHS Mission, Vision and Values statement
