We’re currently looking for someone to act as a first line resource to all California Distribution Center manager and employees. You’ll use your vast California employment knowledge to help partner and assist employees and managers in communicating various human resources policies, procedures, laws, and government regulations. As a compliance expert, you’ll create, execute, and measure an overall strategy of California centric compliance. In your spare time, you’ll help on a variety of small and major HR initiatives that will be fun, challenging, and make a giant impact. This job is all about owning the position – making the decisions, developing the plan, and then rolling up your sleeves and doing the work. Job Requirements:

• BA/BS in human resources, business, or closely related field.
• Five or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience, including leading compliance efforts, employee relations, workers’ compensation, recruiting and leave administration.
• Solid understanding of Federal and California State employment-related laws.
• Prior experience in a retail distribution center preferred.
• Strong consulting & coaching skills experience as an effective advisor to management and employees.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
• Great time management skills. Ability to multi task and review priorities as other demands come into play on a daily basis.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail, implementation, project management & follow through are critical for success in this position.
• ADP, Ceridian, Ultimate Software or other payroll system knowledge preferred
• Ability to travel 5 – 10 days per year.
• PHR or SPHR required. CPHR certification preferred.
