Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Institutional Marketing, the Institutional Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and managing all marketing initiatives related to the Riddell Institutional business unit.
This position will include, but is not limited to,) facilitating development and completion of all marketing and advertising materials for product, category and/or brand-related campaigns (related to and / or in conjunction with overall brand/marketing strategy).
The Institutional Marketing Manager is the primary outside partner agency contact and liaison with the Product Development team and Sales team for all selling materials, advertising, catalogs and consumer / trade collateral.
Teamwork is essential in order to coordinate and facilitate integrated programs while working closely with multiple internal sales/product teams to ensure consistent messaging throughout all marketing media.
Will also play integral role in the knowledge development for Brand campaigns while monitoring and managing these functions to maintain that overall business objectives of the department, business unit and company as a whole are being met.
Essential Functions:
Drive vision and marketing concept creation and implementation for Riddell Institutional business unit
Create a point of difference for the business unit, as well as the overall Riddell brand, and apply an aggressive/challenger mentality towards supporting it
Work with Product Development team to secure product information and promotional requirements for assigned categories
Supervise and direct the efforts of partner agencies in development and deployment of all advertising, selling materials, catalogs and consumer/trade collateral
Establish and maintain project timelines for individual advertising, marketing and promotional activities in coordination with partner agencies
Drive marketing processes towards continually more challenging and innovative creative outputs
Monitor and analyze competitive advertising and promotion activities for assigned categories
Lead and direct the creative direction for marketing efforts on assigned categories – working with partner agencies – and convey directions to Sales Force & Product Development Team
Develop protocol and lead the securing of approvals from Product Development and Legal Department
Contribute to marketing plans that deliver business targets of goals, revenue, profit, and share
Prepare and deliver marketing presentations to Sales Force and Product Development Team as required
Work with related colleagues to improve integration of all marketing functions to include advertising, internet, promotions, PR, sports/entertainment marketing and grassroots marketing to ensure consistent messaging across all channels
Identify, cultivate new business or marketing opportunities
Run and create regional reports using Business Intelligence (BI)
Develop in-depth competitive market analysis
Education and Training:
BS/BA in business, marketing or related field
Minimum 5 years proven experience in marketing/advertising / design
Strong communication, presentation, leadership, business acumen, strategic thinking, organizational development, and resource management skills
Deep understanding of direct sales model and strong cultural connection to sports and media
Proven excellence in project management, fiscally responsible, multi-task and prioritize, balance day to day responsibilities with the big picture, easily adapt to changing/evolving priorities and strategies
Strong understanding of marketing theories and practices
Proven track record in marketing communications development and
Execution with the ability to turn ideas into actionable communications that drive results
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical, project management, problem-solving, verbal/written communication, leadership and multitasking skills.
Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite 4
Business Intelligence (BI) / SAP knowledge is a plus
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, tight deadlines and changing priorities and show constant entrepreneurial initiative
Ability to collaborate and lead a cross functional team
Able to communicate effectively, both orally (including presenting to colleagues and industry partners) and in writing
Excellent team player and leader capable of working with multiple departments and roles among internal and external stakeholders
Detail oriented and extremely organized
