Fox has an opening in its Junior's design department for a Graphic Designer - Junior's.
Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating original graphic artwork that reflects the Fox image, yet continues to establish our company as a leader within the action sports industry. Candidate must be able to produce original artwork and concepts in multiple styles and mediums. The Graphic Designer will expand upon ideas initiated by Senior Designers, reporting to the Graphics Manager. Designer will be responsible for researching trends and new techniques and help set the tone and direction for the coming season’s line.
Essential Functions of this Position:
1. Develop bold new, emerging graphics and enhance existing concepts. Research markets, trends and new printing techniques and embellishments to bring fresh ideas and innovation.
2. Individual must possess the ability to take direction and expound upon an idea, managing their time professionally.
3. Individual must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, to resolve conflicts and work alongside cut and sew team and development team in order to meet deadlines.
4. Individual must be very detail oriented. Designer will be responsible for creating detailed technical packages that will be handed off to development. Technical packages are critical to the final sample being correct.
5. Individual must work within creative standards set by the management. They must possess the ability to effectively take design direction, utilizing their creativity and talent to design graphics appropriate for the Fox Customer within the Action Sports Market.
6. When appropriate, Designer will be required to travel and attend design/market type events, participate in “vibe” shopping and tradeshows.
7. Individual will need to clearly present their concepts and designs to their manager and/or to the team as a whole. They must possess the ability to take and give constructive criticism in order to improve designs and make them “Fox Appropriate.”
8. Adhere to Sportswear Product Development timelines and meet all deadlines.
9. Must be able to manage multiple projects, across several categories, within the set timeline and meeting the standards set by Management.
10. Assist with creating and presenting seasonal Vibe presentations for inspiration and direction for Design Departments. Including graphics, photographs, slogans and phrases, etc.
11. Design SMU (Special Make Up) graphics that meet specific directional goals and schedule set by high-level key accounts.
12. Work with production team to review strike offs and make recommendations for corrections.
Experience and Skill required:
• Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong illustration skills with ability to create graphic concept free hand as well as on the computer.
• Thorough knowledge of printing techniques and understanding of how graphics will translate onto a printable garment.
• Ability to work with multiple personalities in a diverse environment creating a team atmosphere.
• A strong understanding of the Action Sports Industry and the Fox Customer.
• Ability to clearly present ideas to manager and/or team.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-changing environment.
• Must have exceptional ability to manage time professionally and execute ideas from initial concept to print ready art.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Highly organized.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive, pro-active, “Bring-it-On” Attitude.
Physical Requirements:
• May be able to work more than 8 hours during a workday and evening.
• Sit or stand for long periods of time
Scheduling Requirements:
• Must be able to work occasional off hours
• Must be able available during normal business hours.
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to travel on short notice to second office in Morgan Hill, trade shows, and off site meetings.
