Zumiez is a leading specialty retailer with400+ stores across the country. Our stores carry action sports related clothing, shoes, snowboards, skateboards and accessories. We cater to a customer usually between the ages of 12 – 24, who want to shop in a brand driven and image focused environment.
Zumiez Men's Private label is responsible for 6 unique brands spanning various categories including accessories, clothing and snow hard goods.
Available Position Description:
Start Date: ASAP
Position Title: Assistant Graphic Designer (Design and Clerical)
Status: Part Time Hourly, 3 days per business week.
Wage: DOE
Benefits: N/A
Position Purpose:
Assist Men's Private Label graphics and apparel designers through design process.
Principal Responsibilities:
? Create unique graphics for various applications (i.e. tee shirt graphics, packaging, internal collateral, hard goods, packaging, etc.) across numerous brands.
? Help track artwork and samples from ideation to production sampling.
? Work with design, production and vendors to make sure items are on time, to specifications and correct.
Qualifications:
? Flexible availability.
? College degree or equivalent with course work in graphic design or graphic design production.
? Interest or passion for action sports and culture strongly preferred.
? Proactive approach to problem solving and decision-making.
? Able to manage time well under strict deadlines and multiple projects.
? Workswell independently, as well as in groups.
? Able to receive critique well within group situations.
? Able to articulate ideas clearly through both written and spoken form.
? Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
? Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
? Wants to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
? Can create and execute illustrations in different styles (hand drawn, vector, etc) in a tight timeline.
? Strong understanding of file optimization for print.
Technical Requirements:
? Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (CS3/4).
? Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
? Excellent hand drawn or computer illustration skills.
