We are looking for a Product Development Assistant to assist our Men’s Product Development Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to measuring and reviewing sample submits, sample tracking, correspondence with suppliers, fit comments and maintenance and organization of sample closet.
Principal Accountabilities:
• New proto log in & preparation (checking matrix, pulling and reviewing technical packages)
• Measuring garments upon arrival
• Garment fitting with Product Development manager and member of design team
• Relaying fitting comments to overseas factories
• Filing and organizing of tech packs, sample comments & approvals.
• Fabric Library: swatch cutting, organization, header preparation & information
• Sample archive maintenance
• Preparation of TOP samples to our Internet division for e-shop photo-shoots.
• Preparing/updating of technical packages if needed
• Sample tracking
• Analyze development issues and proactively communicate the information to the applicable party
• Office/Administrative work (as needed)
Qualifications:
• College degree or equivalent with course work in textiles, pattern making, apparel manufacturing or related experience.
• Exceptional written/oral communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative and identify priorities
• Ability and willingness to work hard in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, team-oriented environment
Technical Requirements:
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator CS3
• Experience using Adobe Photoshop
• Solid understanding of specs, point of measurements & basic patternmaking skills.
• Understanding of basic fabric characteristics, and ability to distinguish between knit and weave types.
