Consumers today are more sophisticated and better educated than in any previous generation. They decide what they want and when they want it. At Nike, our challenge is to anticipate what they'll want and be ready with a solution. When we're really good, it's something -- a product, a service, a whatever -- that's so intuitively perfect the consumer hasn't even imagined it could exist. Your job? To make sure we know our consumers better than we know ourselves.

As our Marketing Intern, you'll help facilitate and project manage the development and launch of the Nike 6.0 ShopKid program, including running point on a ShopGirl style clinic on campus in June in conjunction with the soft launch of Women's 6.0 in NA. You'll also help coordinate key details on multiple summer efforts. In addition and pending bandwidth, you'll also take on a competitive landscape analysis across gender and sport.
Core Accountabilities
• Shop Girl Style Clinic: Coordinating travel/hotel (Booking facilities at Nike/catering, Developing the agenda/invite, Point of contact for attendees, Developing fun activities, Making reservations, Coordinating transportation)
• ShopKid program: Developing a brief for the identity/logo and web site (Helping to develop the overall plan for the ShopKid program, Product flow, Gifts, Web site, Communications, Logos)
• Executional summer details: Helping out where needed (Shipping product, Coordinating meetings and doing follow-up, Project managing small design projects (posters, tickets), Assisting where needed with brand and athletes)
• Competitive Analysis: Completing a competitive landscape analysis of action sports brands for both men's and women's (Creating a collage, Developing a thoughtful analysis on what territory each brand owns and where 6.0 sits within this context)
Requirements for the position include:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program (to qualify, candidate must be engaged in their Junior or Senior year in college. Students graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 2010 will also be considered)
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.3
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Available during the internship program dates (June 15-August 20)
• Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Baseline understanding of marketing/branding
• Retail experience
• Worked in an action sports environment with a passion for action sports
• Coordinated trips or events for large groups
