Spy Optic is seeking an experienced Sports Marketing Manager to manage and drive all sports marketing-related activities and initiatives domestically. Responsibilites will include managing segment managers for surf, skate and snowboard, motocross, mountain bike and bmx, ski, and wakeboard. This position will ensure that all sports marketing initiatives and segment manager spending reflects the strategic goals of the marketing department. Will manage and track all sports marketing budgets, assist segment managers with key athlete contracts, and drive all event sponsorship spending. Will also be responsible for evaluating and directing all grassroots marketing programs.


Qualifications:

-Minimum of 5 years action sports experience - preferably in a management position within a major boardsports brand (surf, skate, snow).
-Bachelor's degree or an additional 2 years experience
-Must be able to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of action sports and its culture
-Previous staff management experience of 3 or more team members
-Must have excellent project management, planning and organizational skills
-Must possess strong leadership skills and be able to manage a team of 6 or more
-Self directed, must possess exceptional initiative and ability to introduce and implement new sports marketing ideas and programs
-Ability to maintain a calm, positive, and focused problem solving attitude when dealing with difficult personalities, interpersonal conflict, hostility, and time demands.
-Ability to set priorities, create time management plans, and coordinate internal and external resources.
-Understanding of accounting and budgetary processes
-Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
-Effective verbal and written communication skills
