In an effort to support our corporate buying division, we are seeking an experienced BUYER to become the newest member of our Buying Team. Our dynamic team strives to enhance the customers shopping experience, and is driven not to be the biggest, but the BEST.

A buyer is primarily responsible for managing the open-to-buy process along with assortment planning, product development, selection and promotion, vendor negotiation, gross margin and inventory control, and the development of store merchandising directives.

Responsibilities:
-- Manage entire Open-To-Buy Process: Co-op, margin, markdowns, total dollars
-- Manage, develop and direct subordinates to improve performance and achieve professional and business goals
-- Negotiate firmly with vendors: cost, payment terms, co-op money, returns/exchanges, freight/terms of delivery, opportunity buys, etc. while building strong vendor relationships
-- Review and develop product lines and assortments to achieve budgeted sales and maximize gross margin
-- Seek new vendors and develop new categories, trends and exclusives
-- Partner with vendors to spearhead new product marketing campaigns
-- Maintain accountability for all inventory management under senior buyer supervision
-- Take ownership of relevant ecommerce categories and business
-- Procure and supervise the expenditure of all vendor co-op advertising funds
-- Work with merchandising teams to create exciting in-store displays and merchandising directives leading to increased sales and profit opportunities
-- Collaborate with training division to support training universities and vendor clinics
-- Ensure vendor compliance with shipping and pricing policies
-- Develop a connection to our consumer through our lifestyle brand
-- Work independently while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
-- Demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills along with a passionate understanding of retail merchandising
-- Manage and execute strategic projects as assigned

Qualifications
-- Prefer a minimum of 3 years buying experience, preferably buying for a non-vertical retailer
-- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
-- Strong understanding of the financial aspect related to buying – retail math, basic accounting principles highly analytical entrepreneurial thinker
-- Must have strong computer skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
-- Strong attention to detail with effective communication skills, both verbal & written
-- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize
-- Technical knowledge of related products a plus
-- Flexible schedule to accommodate travel
-- Experience at retail level preferred
