The Vice President of Marketing is a full-time, salary position responsible for the overall marketing of the Roxy brand - strategy, planning, budget management, implementation of strategies, advertising, sports marketing, events, media, PR, entertainment, brand partnerships, research/consumer insights and personnel management.
Scope of Responsibilities
Brand Steward – Serve as a passionate steward, advocate and gatekeeper for the Roxy Brand. Champion an on going refinement of the Brand’s positioning, leading marketing innovation agenda and drive product leadership, derived from both a data-based understanding of key Roxy and competitive brand measures, as well as a keen understanding of an increasingly changing competitive, technological, retail and customer environment. Be a catalyst for change on global basis.
Financial Deliverables – Ensure that annual Brand and Marketing plans are designed, and aligned cross-functionally, to deliver Roxy annual revenue and pre-tax profit targets, which are set and agreed-to with Quiksilver Inc. To deliver financial targets, the head of Marketing must ensure that all critical Marketing initiatives are designed to carry a positive ROI. Tight budget management of all Marketing dollars is an essential part of ensuring annual financial delivery.
Marketing Strategy & Planning – Partner with the executive management team (peers in Product, Sales, Retail, and Operations) to create a distinct brand marketing strategy that delivers compelling brand and product stories that connect emotionally to core consumer audience. Communicate strategy and plan to Roxy regions globally. Utilize market data, consumer research and insights, and competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities and needs in the market to support the expansion and customization of existing products, the introduction of new products, and customer segmentation initiatives that will drive sales and create new revenue streams. These plans must impact all Roxy channels – Independent Retailers, Department Stores, Roxy Retail Stores, and the Online/Web channel.
Tactical Plan Development/Management – Lead development of multi dimensional marketing plan whose initiatives and activities drive profitable revenue growth and Roxy sales as well as brand excitement. Drive creative development process with in house and external resources to deliver breakthrough work. Work closely with the Roxy athlete team, as well as Research, Design & Development, creating innovative designs and new technologies that inspire cutting-edge products and showcasing athletes personalities, performances and storylines in marketing campaigns. Provide seasoned leadership in the translation and execution of the Marketing strategy into impactful programs at Retail levels which build the business and support an overall retail (buying/shopper) experience consistent with the quality and essence of Roxy brand. Must be a tireless champion in ensuring that all Retail programs are executed optimally, balancing operational realities with the need to create an understandable and compelling value proposition for both Retailer and consumer.
Operations Improvement – Review and enhance, where necessary, all Marketing processes, measurements, information systems, etc., that are needed to enable the overall Marketing function to operate efficiently and effectively in pursuit of its objectives. Provide critical linkage to Product, Sales, Retail, On line, Operations, Finance and HR groups to ensure Marketing goals align with the overall business goals of Quiksilver Inc.
Marketing Leadership & Development – Build and shape a highly-effective, world-class Marketing organization by hiring, training, motivating and setting leadership direction for all direct reports.
Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Business required
5-7 years experience at Vice President level a must
Must have marketing apparel experience
