Description: The Controller will be responsible for the general accounting and financial reporting management of the company. This critical position may have direct contact with executive management and under the direction of the President / CEO, have oversight responsibility for all aspects of accounting operations.
The primary responsibility will be the oversight of the daily accounting operations for the department. This position will develop, establish, document and enforce proper accounting methods, procedures, and policies. The Controller will develop a consistent and efficient month-end close processes that ensures the timely dissemination of accurate monthly results.
The Controller will also have HR responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities
• Responsible for completion of monthly accounting close (prepare and post daily journals and month end journal entries, perform reconciliations, etc.)
• Completion of financial statements and management reports
• Responsible for integrity of financial statements including compliance with US GAAP
• Advised on accounting and financial process and implications of business decisions
• Develop or participate in business planning, budgeting, performance targets, and policy development
• Develops, implement, and track internal controls to protect assets
• Responsible for the coordination with auditors on all tax and audit matters
• Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Preparation of registration, regulatory tax filings, including monthly sales tax filings
• Manage overall cash flow and ensure optimal working capital
• Manage outsourcing of HR related functions such as maintaining employee records, calculation and distribution of payroll, and personnel policies, benefits, and procedures
• Assist with recruiting
