The MIC’s communication team is looking for a Writer to join the team. This position is responsible for producing written content for various online platforms and obtaining or generating images as needed for various association publications, websites, social media posts, letters, speeches, and other communication needs. The writer is also responsible for generating article ideas, researching and coordinating content ideas with leadership in various departments, and seeing content through all required approvals to completion.

 

The ideal candidate will bring creativity, enthusiasm, energy, and a collaborative spirit. Someone who is a passionate motorcycle/ATV rider and/or ROV driver and has knowledge of the powersports industry is a must.

 

Job Duties include (but aren’t limited to):

- Generating content ideas; researching and coordinating article ideas; writing and editing articles for RideReport, Executive Briefs, MSF/ASI/ROHVA eNews, social media content, RideWithUs.com, and other association websites.

- Monitor content results and propose content and process ideas to continuously improve performance.

- Ghostwriting as needed (e.g., articles, scripts, talking points).

- Assisting with various writing and editing projects as asked.

- Participate as member of staff creative team when appropriate and participate as member of Communications management team. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Have an interest in video (e.g., writing scripts, editing, shooting) and be willing to expand skill set while helping the associations bring to life more video content.

- Be current on SEO best practices and social media trends and have ability to implement to increase audience and enhance engagement.

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, publishing, marketing, communications, journalism or related field of study.

- Five-plus years’ experience in publishing/media relations with specific experience in reporting, writing, and editing.

- Must be a passionate motorcycle/ATV rider and/or ROV driver and must have knowledge and passion for the powersports industry.

- Exceptional attention to detail. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal

communication skills.

- Ability to use WordPress, all Office Products. Knowledge of graphic design programs and video editing tools a plus.

- Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently.

- Role is remote by can be hybrid.

 

Salary range for the position is 80k-92k
