The Columbia eCommerce team plays a crucial role in improving the consumer experience on our Columbia sites and digital platforms in the US and Canada. The Digital Creative Director will lead all aspects of the eCommerce creative process, establishing style guides, concept development, design and copywriting. This role demands a hands-on, digitally focused creative leader who can define our strategic vision, provide art direction, set visual standards, and guide our team of designers and copywriters.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Collaborate with eCommerce leaders to build a digital strategy roadmap and proactively guide a team in support of digital transformation initiatives
Identify opportunities to enhance eCommerce consumer experiences through incorporation of emerging trends and digital innovations that yield creative and commercial strategies
Partner with operations teams to scope projects and forecast resourcing needs to build production capacity, communicating needs and trade-offs when appropriate
Ideate with internal Design and Marketing counterparts to translate digital marketing strategies; bringing creativity and elevated storytelling to life in seasonal campaigns and best-in-class digital commerce
Establish mechanisms and audit work to maintain consistent brand standards across customer-facing programs
Work closely with, communicate and present Creative across key stakeholders and counterparts
Oversee a team of talented individuals through mentorship, talent development, and change leadership
YOU ARE
Customer-obsessed and detail-oriented
Fluent in best practices for web-based information architecture, art direction and design
Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple parallel-path projects
An established leader with a proven ability to motivate, mentor, ang guide creative teams through change
Passionate about building a culture of creative problem-solving
Curious and current on technology innovation and trends
YOU HAVE
A degree in graphic design, a related field, or equivalent combination of professional, visual creative experience
8+ years of experience as a visual designer, creative director, design director, or similar creative role
Robust experience leading large, B2C eCommerce focused projects of complex design and art direction: to include image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form and color
Proven experience navigating digital innovation and transformation
Demonstrated experience leading Creative for consumer-centric digital and eCommerce campaigns
Expertise managing complex planning schedules, with flexibility to changing priorities for data-based decisions
An accessible online portfolio demonstrating successful, user-centered creative across a range of channels, aesthetics, and project budgets
