General Summary

The Director of Planning will lead all planning efforts for the brand across Wholesale and Direct to Consumer. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of planning and buying functions along with the supporting analytics: pre-season planning, demand planning, buying, in-season review, and post-season hind-sighting. Individual will be responsible for building out plans that align with financial objectives including seasonal sales plans, category plans, buy plans and inventory positions. Collaborate with Sales, eCommerce, Merchandising, Design, Production and Finance to deliver on seasonal targets and manage inventory position. Establish vision for evolution of planning and analytics across the organization in collaboration with leadership team. Ideal candidate will be collaborative and passionate and bring innovation to tools, reports and analytics that support all planning functions. An individual that knows how to gather and communicate key insights to support our brand in making informed decisions.

Essential Job Functions

•Translate fiscal targets to seasonal sales plans across all channels including wholesale and ecommerce at the season, channel, division, department, and category level.
•Develop seasonal SKU forecasts to inform development of seasonal line plans including incorporation of trend analysis, assortment management, SKU productivity and line architecture.
•Partner with leaders of Merchandise & Design, Sales and Ecommerce to develop and maintain topline sales, gross margin and inventory plans to drive buying, promotion, and inventory placement decisions.
•Ensure pre-season and in-season plans from the bottom up align with corporate sales, margin and inventory targets.
•Manage Open to buy and monthly forecasts review
•Guide markdown and promotional strategies
•Analyze style level productivity and profitability at the department and channel level to define the assortment strategy for each season and quarter.
•Evolve seasonal buying calendar to ensure maximum amount of market feedback is incorporated into buy decisions while allowing sufficient production lead times to meet order delivery.
•Develop and implement best in practices in planning, allocation and reporting processes to be deployed throughout the organization.
•Partner with IT and business leads to implement comprehensive suite of analytics to support buying and planning functions.
•Ad hoc reporting

•Establish and drive planning and buying calendars across the organization.
•Build out key reporting templates and planning tools to support business needs
•Partner with business leads and IT to drive continuous improvement.
•Identify organizational inefficiencies and drive improvement through the automation of manual processes.

•Manage planning team and support buying team
•Recruit, hire, retain and develop talent, setting goals to support business and career development
•Ensure open lines of communication and synergy with critical departments
•Develop and maintain strong cross functional relationships across multiple departments.
