We are looking for someone who truly understands sustainability, compliance, and quality in the apparel industry to come on at our company in a Director capacity. This is truly a great opportunity to make your mark as a professional in this field.
As Director of Quality, Compliance, and Sustainability (QCS), you will be responsible for making sure the company's products and services meet set standards and that outside partner’s production lines perform efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Managing a QCS team and their daily responsibilities across QA, sustainability, factory compliance and specific testing protocols.
• Continued training and review of all safety and health compliances as related to textiles, accessories, and other product.
• Ensuring logging of all test reports and disbursing critical failures to required parties within 24 hours of receipt.
• Learning and cataloguing all international and domestic testing protocols by retailer and by best business practices so that yourself and future expansion of the department have a comprehensive template
• Ensuring product compliance with international and national legislation and standards
• Coordinate with the testing team to establish methods to lower testing costs
• Directing workers engaged in testing and measuring product, tabulating the data relating to product quality and materials
• Supervising technical team in carrying out QC checks and tests.
• Collating and analyzing performance charts and data against defined parameters.
• Research and resolve failure rates to increase overall quality control
• Maintaining good records & communications so that qualitative & quantitative analysis is readily available
• Keeping failure rates low by proactively working with factories when problems are discovered. Communicating issues so that we can work to improve performance.
• Checking daily submissions of all inspections and communications related to products being produced, by the outside QC team
• Research & help resolve issues to proactively reduce failure rates to increase overall quality levels in production and packaging
• Coordinate with the quality control department, production, and imports on product that requires inspection
• Manage the company’s ESG platform for sustainability by keeping up on the environmental, social, and governance sustainability goals and initiatives.
• Work with factories and supply chain vendors on creating partnerships in regard to their environmental and social sustainability.
• Research and knowledge of 3rd Party laboratories including their prices, timelines, and testing protocols.
• Working with 3rd party auditors to ensure factory compliance for specific accounts, retailers, and licensors.
• Responsibilities are wide ranging; occasional commutes are required to factories in the Tijuana and/or Ensenada areas.
• Other duties to be assigned as needed both within & outside of the department as required
