DIRECTOR OF RETENTION & CRMÂ

This position is located at our headquarters in Park City, UTÂ

OVERVIEW:Â

The Director of Retention & CRM will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that segment, grow and retain customers. The ideal candidate has a customer-first mindset and is passionate about understanding our customers’ needs based on their experiences with our brands. Programs will be brought to life thru increases in personalization and relevancy across all channels including website, email, SMS, landing pages, and direct mail to drive business growth and customer retention.Â

This position will report to the Vice President of Loyalty and CRM and partner cross functionally with Loyalty, Performance Marketing, Analytics, Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product and Engineering teams to create a lifecycle marketing experience that increases retention across segments.Â

RESPONSIBILITIES:Â


Own strategy, segmentation, execution, and optimization of the Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist and Steep and Cheap customer file performanceÂ


Direct responsibility for email, SMS and Direct Mail engagement strategy and performanceÂ


Partner with Loyalty, Performance Marketing, Creative and Brand, Merchandising and Digital Product teams to optimize and personalize the customer journey, developing pre-emptive strategies that deliver the right message to the right person, at the right timeÂ


Leverage all the engagement tools to develop retention marketing campaigns that drive frequency, repeat rate, LTV, and increased engagement and advocacyÂ


Manage and grow the email and SMS subscriber databasesÂ


Own monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting;Â work closely with the Analytics and Data teams to continuously measure customer lifecycle performance and communicate resultsÂ


Develop a high performing team of lifecycle/retention marketers and ensure their continuous development and growth within the organizationÂ

REQUIREMENTS:Â


8 years of marketing experience in driving lifecycle and retention marketing, including customer segmentation and modeling, lifetime value analysis, email, loyalty, SMS and site marketing, ideally for a DTC and/or apparel brandÂ


Business Degree, MBA a plusÂ


Successful track-record of developing marketing strategies, executing, measuring, and delivering on performance targetsÂ


Knowledge of direct-to-consumer eCommerce, retention marketing trends, and Email/CRM technologiesÂ


Email Service Provider or CRM platform experience (E.g. Iterable, Braze, Cordial, Responsys, Adobe Campaign)Â


Strong collaboration, communication and presentation skills to inform, encourage and implement impactful marketing initiativesÂ


Strong hands-on understanding of databases, BI tools and financial analysis, and SQL a plusÂ


Strong analytical skills with proven ability to scrutinize large amounts of data and turn it into actionable initiatives (including both quantitative and qualitative data)Â


Experience with testing methodology and experience driving results through analyticsÂ


An eye for strong creative and storytelling, and experience partnering with Creative teams on both direct response and brand marketing assets and communicationÂ


Strong empathy and understanding of the customer mindset to deliver exceptional customer experiencesÂ


Excellent project management skills including: conceptualization, driving alignment, planning resources, managing deadlines and objectives, delivering analysis and recommendationsÂ
