ABOUT THE POSITION
Our Distribution Centers utilize state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated team to provide Columbia Sportswear Company a competitive advantage in distribution. Accurate order fulfillment and on-time shipments are the hallmarks of our facility.
The Director – US 3PL is responsible for leading and managing CSC’s US-based third-party logistics provider relationship(s) (3PL). The Director – US 3PL will manage established and new 3PL relationships, champion and partner on 3PL partner(s) continuous improvement projects, and act as a subject matter expert in the design, technology, and fulfillment processes across each 3PL relationship. The role is accountable for aligning with strategic partners on operational plans to ensure execution and adherence to agreed-on KPIs.
Reporting to the SVP of Global Distribution, this role will work cross-functionally to ensure the customers, partners, and distribution network’s needs are met while maintaining high-quality, cost-effective, and timely services.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Manage 3PL relationship – US:Key interface between 3PL Partner(s) and CSC on forecasting accuracy, availability, timing, and performance against forecast
Monitor daily productivity and manage all spend requests outside of transactional rates
Approve and monitor all ad-hoc service requests, ensuring compliance with contractual terms
Monitor KPIs performance and improvement plans
Monitor all critical operating assumptions defined within agreement/contract to proactively identify potential risks or opportunities
Partner with 3PL on CSC funded resources/projects to ensure maximum contribution and timely execution are realized
Partner with 3PL on Continuous Improvement (CI) activities regarding areas of Cost, Service, and Capacity.

Partner with CSC functions in:Planning/Forecasting– B2B, B2C, Retail, VAS, Rework, Receiving, and Returns.
Customer service, lead time improvements, and chargeback performance management.
Production – factory compliance reporting/improvements, lead time/service improvements, visibility, country sourcing strategy, and freight planning.
Finance/Cost performance – inbound freight, outbound parcel, distribution, packaging, chargebacks, and annual budgeting plan


YOU ARE
A natural problem solver who can make decisions independently using data analysis
Strong relationship manager with the ability to influence senior leaders
Resilient and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
Metrics driven with a proven track record of accomplishing objectives, and elevating distribution capabilities of an organization

YOU HAVE
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in industrial engineering or operations management, applicable certifications, and equivalent experience.
Accredited Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt, preferred.
Requires a minimum 10+ years of operations or manufacturing management experience.
3+ years of experience in managing a 3PL relationship; preferably onsite with 3PL.
5+ years of experience within a distribution/fulfillment environment.
Hands-on experience working within or managing a matrixed and distributed departmental structure within a global organization.
Possess thorough knowledge of warehouse operations and computerized distribution systems.
