We’re looking for a Vendor Relations & Compliance Supervisor to help us bring the best kind of service experience to reputable power house vendors, getting them set-up and compliant to best logistic/distribution practices. Leading and developing a small team of talented individuals, your success will be how well you connect to the process and achieve win-win opportunities for us and our vendors.
POSITION PURPOSE
Under the direction of the DC Operations and Vendor Compliance Manager, this role provides daily leadership and supervision of the Vendor Compliance team in the Distribution Center. Responsible for the administrative supervising of the Vendor Compliance and Relations processes. This role will plan, assign, execute and measure team performance against daily, weekly and cycle goals. The DC Vendor Compliance/Relations Supervisor will be responsible for teaching and training the Vendor Compliance team, setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable. The role focuses on facilitating strong partnerships with all internal and external partners (vendors) and maximizes productivity and effectiveness of the department by staying up to date on industry best practices, recommending changes to management and implementing accordingly.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead team to successfully execute daily, weekly and cycle goals through strong communication, feedback, accountability and recognition
- Teach and train team to enhance productivity through personal and professional development of self and team members
- Track and maintain employee training and certification matrix
- Assist in recruiting and interview processes
- Proactively communicate and problem solve with upstream and downstream stakeholders
- Maintain attendance records, timecard approvals, punch corrections and any disciplinary actions needed
- Assist Manager with disciplinary actions including verbal and written documentation when applicable.
- Identify and escalate all employee related issues including safety or security concerns to respective manager immediately
- Assist in department projects as assigned
- Provide feedback and report metrics to management on issues concerning the overall performance of the Vendor Compliance Department
- Responsible for prompt, collaborative communication in response to all vendor service guideline and price ticketing partner troubleshooting issues and or questions
- Attend and host vendor partnership meetings and drive strong relationship building between Zumiez and vendors
- Educates cross functional teams involved in all areas of production the vendor service guidelines initiatives.
- Incorporates their feedback for those initiatives and works towards supporting our distribution goal of faster, accurate, cheaper
- Provide exceptional customer service to all vendors and home office departments with regards to vendor compliance and ensuring vendor service guidelines are understood by all parties
- Frequent local travel and occasional out of state travel may be required
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 years of relevant work experience leading a team
• 3 years experience in supply chain operations or commensurate experience
• An appreciation of Zumiez culture and ability to integrate well
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide feedback and speak in a group setting with confidence
• Strong critical thought process with the ability to be innovative and creative in resolving conflict and improving process in alignment to company guiding principles
• Associate degree in relevant field or commensurate experience required
• Excellent decision making, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to be innovative and creative in resolving issues and improving processes
• Must have a strong sense of urgency and take initiative under fast paced environment
• Experience in building strong collaborative relationships with partners outside of the organization
• Solid interpersonal skills with experience in building and maintaining excellent professional relationships with internal and external partners
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to teach others effectively
• Must have reliable transportation for partner meetings
• Ability to work a flexible work day with little to no advance notice
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Ability to work in warehouse environment with constant exposure to loud machinery
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and utilize ergonomic best practices
• Ability to move around in an office environment to access files or product and gather information, stand, walk
• Ability to use hands to type, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Regularly required to talk or hear
