Position Overview
This position exists to support the Warehouse Manager in leading a multi-shift distribution team, involving continuous coordination of distribution-related activities, workforce planning, employee relations and effective communication to meet organizational objectives. The Distribution Supervisor must be willing/able to work rotating shifts as demanded by workload.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager plan, direct and coordinate specialist work assignments
Train new hires on incoming packing processes and is fluent in process
Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
Monitor and aid packers with any missing product or errors that occur during packing process
Help sort and prioritize pick tickets, identifying which are LTL and which are not
Follow all customer prescribed routing requirements
Assists employees in all aspects of job knowledge and safety
Troubleshoot machine (printers, scanners etc.) areas
Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals
Recommend and coordinate changes based on process analysis
Assists with 6S and Safety initiatives and activities
May be required to train employees in current or similar roles
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two years’ experience in similar role or four years’ experience as a lead with progressive responsibilities
Knowledge of warehouse and transportation management systems
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot machine errors and malfunctions
Demonstrated problem solving skills emphasizing process improvement
Experience using MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using IFS, or NetSweep
Green Belt in Six Sigma
Winter sports enthusiast
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to enter data for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds throughout day
