We're looking for a talented e-commerce Art Director to work on a growing web site for a line of world-class expedition gear created by Eddie Bauer and some of the best mountain guides in the world. You'll play a key role in creating compelling content and innovative customer experiences for our web site as well as social media channels. You are passionate about design, have an outstanding portfolio and thrive in a hands-on role working with a collaborative team in a fast-paced, fun environment. Help us take the site to the next level.
Core Accountabilities:
• Conceptualize, design, direct, and/or execute compelling content and user interfaces for seasonal campaigns, brand content projects and social community development
• Strategically align creative concepts and interaction design with merchandising and marketing strategies and brand direction
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and manage their relative priorities.
• Assist the Senior Art Director in defining and communicating an e-commerce creative strategy that supports the quarterly business plan, leverages the corporate creative strategy and ensures -One Brand, One Voice, One Source.
• Present team’s work to executives and other leadership teams on a weekly basis• Develop knowledge of design tactics in retail, catalog and brand advertising to create consistency across whole brand.• Lead and facilitate the translation of conceptual plans into creative concepts and executable tactics.
• Provide design team with art direction (color, font, imagery, and graphical treatment) for all content and development projects through creation of toolkit.
• Communicate requirements for interface functionality and interactivity, and guide the development of interface design specifications using navigational flow diagrams and wireframes.
• Communicate creative guidelines to customer experience design team and provide direction and guidance regarding creative execution. Assist in creating comps as necessary.
• Document design processes and standards.
Education/Experience Required:
• Candidates must have an outstanding on-line portfolio
• 5 - 7 years in web design for an E-commerce site.
• Bachelor's degree. Design background preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret, communicate, and execute creative direction.
• 2 - 4 years strong supervisory/creative direction experience. Professional demeanor. Ability to communicate clearly.
• Thorough knowledge of web design principles and technology and design constraints on web.
• Excellent knowledge of HTML, optimizing web graphics and using web tools.
• Understanding of dynamic content, web server technology and browser compatibility issues.
• Knowledge of ASP, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, Flash
