ASICS America Corporation is a footwear and apparel manufacturer, and is seeking for an assistant manager production in its Apparel Division, located in Southern California.
SUMMARY:
This individual will be responsible for the production process of apparel & accessories from order to delivery to the Distribution Center located in Southaven Mississippi. Must have the ability to problem solve with strong communication and follow through all multiple projects at once while achieving the established dead lines. This position reports to the senior manager in the Apparel Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
• Issues all purchase orders to factories and track weekly on WIP report. Update all data into computer system SAP.
• Understanding all components of garment construction and features.
• Skilled at measuring all types of apparel, understands tech packs and the critical points of measurements in specking the garments.
• Works closely with planning department and establishes a production forecast to be given to each factory to reserve production capacity seasonally.
• Ensures that the product is commercial and signed off by development before commencing production orders. .
• Works with senior manager to reserve greige goods monthly for all programs.
• Works closely with senior manager to negotiate final production price.
• Travels to factories to seasonally to check production and build the relationship to ensure the highest quality and on time delivery.
• Creates the Min Lead-time spreadsheet with accurate seasonal data on factories, pricing minimums, lead-times and standard case pack.
• Effectively communicates with multiple departments regarding production.
• Ensures all factories are abiding by our vendor compliance manual.
• Responsible for the on time delivery and overall quality of product coming into the DC.
• Ability to travel to factories, trade shows, retail shops and expos to keep abreast of new trends in sewing, garment construction and industry developments.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.S.) and/or 5 years experience in apparel production environment supervising a staff.
• Detail-oriented, organized and strong ability to Multi – Task many projects and seasons at once while maintaining critical deadlines.
• Experienced with all aspects of garment construction to create top quality garments
• Full understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
• Well rounded in all fabric construction, both knits and woven.
• Proficient in excel, SAP experience a plus.
• Ability to speak Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) a plus.
• Ability to travel and to work long hours or weekends when necessary to complete tasks to deadlines
• Ability to train and manage one subordinate
