Reporting to the Director of Retail Marketing, the Senior Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for retail marketing planning by channel, development and execution of all retail related POS and programming while integrating omni-channel efforts where possible and appropriate. Acts as the liaison between wholesale retail accounts and ASICS America Marketing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop compelling marketing plans and campaigns to enhance sales and brand awareness at our retail accounts:
o Drive sales & elevate brand awareness in the wholesale & retail channels
o Maximize the experience for our customers and those who serve them through demonstrated competency in retail marketing, consumer insights, etc.
o Instrumental in building relationships with retailers to engage new and existing customers
o Manages direct reports in the planning, development and implementation of in-store marketing programs by determining overall priorities, goals and messaging
o Employs strong project management skills to manage multiple projects to meet deliverable dates and prioritize and organize effectively
o Collaborates with ASICS Marketing, Sales and Account Marketing teams to ensure marketing efforts for various US retail environments/spaces are current, relevant and meet the standard laid forth by the brand that align with corporate strategic direction in conjunction with Marketing and Sales Management
o Partners with internal Marketing teams (Digital, Events, PR, etc.) to promote and exploit omni-channel marketing efforts were possible and relevant
o Measure results by assessing sales data and research to understand ROI, foster consumer insights and aid in continuous improvement
- Plans and manages all ASICS branded in-store programs (design to delivery) by channel for all retail accounts including:
o National campaigns and product launches in support of ACC corporate initiatives
o Custom programs specific to retailer needs and environment
o Shop-in-Shop and fixture programs
o Marketing considerations include but are not limited to window and in-store messaging, fixtures, events, promotional elements, training, printed collateral/direct marketing, web-based/digital/social marketing, logistics, shipping, promotions
o Manage design firms/agencies/vendors to accomplish the above
- Assesses and evolves current business practices and makes recommendations to garner efficiencies in processes and protocol
- Creates and presents ASICS Marketing presentations as necessary
- Manages budgets and ensures monthly budget actualization to stay within established annual budgets:
o Keep track of budget and manages allocation
o Works in association with Marketing Manager/Specialist/Coordinator on tracking invoices
o Plan and manage marketing resources according to agreed budgets
o Works closely with supervisor, financial and accounting teams in the relevant, timely, and accurate reporting on all agreed upon financial budgets
- Fosters clear intra-department, inter-department communication on all marketing projects and status and maintains open lines of communications with supervisor and various partners:
o Oversee and ensures updating of monthly reports and post project evaluations
o Maintains administrative and relevant reporting and planning systems such as marketing calendars, special project directives and communication of such to partners (Marketing, Accounts, Sales, etc.)
- Provides additional support to all aspects of the Marketing department as necessary
- Helps maintain and develop the corporate image, protect and develop the Company brand
- Stays current on market place trends and relevant retail marketing practices
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management
- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance
- Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations
- Adheres to local, state and federal laws
- Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor related to your position/department
- Some travel throughout the domestic United States
- Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervisory responsibilities that include overseeing, educating and collaborating with Managers, Specialists and Coordinators within the Retail Marketing department
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of retail marketing experience
- Experience in the sporting goods industry strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Retail, Advertising or related field or, equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of 4-color print procedures and collateral/fixture production
- Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign helpful
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to assess and analyze consumer, marketplace and sales data to garner actionable insights
