This dual role is responsible for training the retail network on Liv/giant product, advising retailers on how to better their women’s business, as well as planning and executing demos, clinics, and events specifically for female consumers. Utilizing a dedicated vehicle, this representative is a traveling mentor for our retail network as well as a direct connection to consumers.
This person must be able to manage their workload since they will be working independently and remotely. The route map/calendar of event dates and dealer visits will be managed by the Retail Training and Event Coordinator and the Women’s Marketing Manager in conjunction with input from the Sales and Marketing teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Retail Training and Support
• Train retailers on Liv/giant product and retail practices
• Assist in the development of future retailer training materials
• Advise retailers on standard merchandising practices to better their women’s product presentation
• Help dealers create a women’s area in store if none exists
• Guide retailers through Liv/giant product line-up including providing buying advice and guidance
• Execute events to support sell-through of product at local dealer
• Support Account Executives in their sell-in of Liv/giant product
• Build alliances with shop staff, encouraging the development of local Liv/giant brand ambassadors
Events Coordination
• Execute women’s demos, from site preparation to rider setup and event teardown
• Lead women’s clinics and events, either in conjunction with a retailer or independently
• Maintain fleet of road, mountain and lifestyle bikes, handling assemblies and repairs as necessary, as well ordering new tools, parts, and supplies
• Provide input on demo bike orders
• Proactively suggest and coordinate new events and clinics
• Interact with consumers, educating them about both product and the Liv/giant program
• Post demo and event dates on web
• Blog occasionally via Facebook, recapping events and taking photos as needed
• Support existing Giant demo program as needed
Product and Program Informant
• Funnel program information and product feedback to and from headquarters, retailers, and consumers
• Provide product development input
• Analyze competitor activities in the field
Additional Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance
• Drive truck to locations safely and in a timely manner, taking all necessary security precautions
• Perform regular maintenances, safety checks, and inventories
• Keep truck interior and exterior clean and professional
Qualifications:
• Must be enthusiastic about cycling, with the ability to work with business owners and managers as well as with the general public
• Good bicycle mechanical knowledge able to make repairs
• Some knowledge of standard bicycle fit practices
• Some retail experience, bicycle industry experience is a plus
• Must be competent in riding bicycles, both on-road and off-road
• Must work well independently, with the flexibility of being away from home for extended periods of time
• A clean driving record, with no history of DUIs
• Experience driving a large vehicle or truck and trailer is a plus
• Ability to lift 50lbs
Travel: 90%
