Scott-Sports is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Apparel/Product Designer within our Motosport Division. This position will be located in our Carlsbad, California Offices.
Job Description:
Scott-Sports is currently searching for an experienced Apparel/Product Designer for our Motocross Division. The ideal candidate will have familiarity and understanding of youth driven action-sport culture with a focus on motocross in particular, the fashion and trends that exist within (and surround) the sport of motocross. Your creativity and passion for motorsports will inspire you to create cutting edge products and graphics that continue our forward momentum as the trendsetters in motosports. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the creation of designs that advance Scott-Sports motocross image, product performance and innovation. This individual must have strong organizational and time management skills. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A PRINT OR WEB DESIGN JOB.
Primary Job Duties:
• Design and develop motocross race wear, detailed tech packs, apparel, helmets, boots, goggles, gloves, protection, gear bags and lifestyle apparel.
• You will also have the opportunity to design for other product divisions such as bike, wintersports and running.
Qualifications:
• 5 years relevant experience designing for the action sports industry
• Knowledge of sublimations, sewing patterns, TPR’s and hi-end stretch and breathable fabrics
• Proficient in making tech packs, detail and dimension drawings and product embellishments
• Superior MAC OSX and Creative Suite skills with Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
• Freehand drawing and sketching skills a huge plus
• Needs to work well independently
• Needs to be a team player and thrive in a collaborative and fast paced creative environment
• Active participation in motocross a huge plus
• Strong portfolio is a must
