Fifth Sun is located in beautiful Northern California (180 miles north of San Francisco) and has been a leading supplier of graphic apparel for the retail clothing industry for 15 years. The primary focus is graphic and fashion design of printed apparel for juniors and young men, for boutiques and national retailers such as Hot Topic, The Buckle, Urban Outfitters, Anchor Blue, Kohls, Macys, Wet Seal, Target and Wal-Mart. In addition, we also hold many licenses with studios such as Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers and Gibson Guitar just to name a few. We are a growing, and creatively progressive company highly regarded in our industry.

Description: The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing the product development and sales strategies for all of our licenses and Brands. This is a management level position and answers to the Design Director. This person must be outgoing, have a great attitude and be a team player! We see this as a very important position to our continued success and is a unique opportunity.

Requirements:
• Must be willing to relocate to Northern California (Chico)
• 5 years minimum experience accumulated in apparel buying, merchandising, planning or product development.
• Category or Brand Management experience preferred (or PD or design).
• Must be strong in planning and forecasting, and have the ability and desire to take an analytical approach to this position!
• Must have incredible follow up skills and be passionate about the product we create.
• Must be a “go-getter” as this position is the driving force insuring our awesome art gets to the buyers!
• Knowledge of the printables market as well as art trends within it.
• Must love to shop and be able to break down the various customer types and trends.

Merchandising Duties:

1) Review and analyze selling reports and translate this to line development and planning of art resources and inventories by appropriate departments.
2) Assist Design Director in all line plan development including analysis, planning, pricing and selling opportunities for all of our various licenses, brands and private label programs.
3) Research and analyze customer and market trends.
4) Make presentations to sales and design departments on new trends, lines, licenses etc and make recommendations on how to capture them.
5) Research and recommend color, style and graphic trends for future seasons.
6) Meet with sales staff (or reps) after sales meetings with buyers and get feedback.
7) Attend sales meetings to understand buyers’ needs and position.
8) Work with Product development team as needed.
9) Travel to sales meetings and tradeshows as needed.




Brand Management Duties:

• Develop a Brand Distribution Plan for each license or brand and present to sales and product development department.
• Provide ongoing brand analysis and sales reports to Merchandising and Sales Dept.
• Work with Merchandising and Art Directors keep them abreast of sales trends for the various Brands.
• Recommend licenses based on feedback from Sales, Reps or Industry, based on selling information in the market and client demands.
• Prepares monthly reports by brand which covers sales performance, obstacles, and accomplishments and presents them to executive staff and appropriate Licensors.
• Ensure all licenses are properly represented at trade shows.
• Manage new product rollouts including educating sales teams on selling presentations and line strategies.
• Meet with and coordinate with our licensors periodically to thoroughly understand and support their marketing and brand development initiatives and give them sales info.
