Rip Curl is looking for a Print Shop Operator to join the team in Costa Mesa, CA.
MAIN PURPOSE AND MAJOR CHALLENEGES OF THE ROLE:
To photograph, process and manage all required products for use on our E-commerce site and wholesale catalogues. The position requires constant cognizance of Rip Curl’s vision, mission, purpose and values, while developing visual communications that represent these values. This is a full time, salaried position.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Print room- Manage the execution of all print art request
• Print, cut and ship art request to their specified due dates
• Research and order new and existing materials for the printer
• Work along side the designers to verify image size, quality and image selection
2. External POP Fulfillment
• Manage and allocate POP from retail and wetsuit departments
• Communicate with in-house team to reach deadlines and ship dates
• Manage interns to help fulfill request and functions
3. Research in-house printing
• Develop skills and relationships with external companies such as distributors
• Research and learn the proper steps in a professional and effective work flow with the printers and outside sales. Master and understand the printing business as a whole
• Find new and improved printing materials that will help save the company money and increase our overall image at store fronts
4. Events
• Contribute to the coordination and operations of grass roots marketing events such as Grom Search and the US Open
• Manage and coordinate interns and other staff during events to help maintain the brand values and overall image of the company
• Set-up and contribute an execution of internal company events
• Pick up and drop off of equipment
5. Window Installs
• Line up installers for graphic wraps such as windows, in-store wraps and light box’s
• Find installers that will work within Rip Curls budget
• Create relationships that will reflect our brand values and help spread " The Search" -- push product swap for install jobs to get Rip Curl product out in the public eye.
• Rack Fixture pick up/drop offs, Window graphics drop offs
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:
• Be extremely focused and task oriented.
• Understand priorities, and not sway from what is most important.
• Attention to detail, and certain standard and pride in quality
• Be great at networking and developing relationships.
• Can work and perform under pressure
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Fundamental understanding of large-format printing.
• 1 year retail experience
