Zumiez is looking for a Footwear Buyer to join the team at headquarters in Everett, Washington. This position reports to our Buying Manager

Responsibilities

- Maximize sales results for all managed departments and categories
- Manage gross margins to maximize results while balancing the need to control inventory
- Identify and maximize trends
- Coordinate efforts with the retail team to maximize impact through store operations, merchandising and marketing
- Identify new categories and vendors to further differentiate Zumiez from its competitors
- Manage new store product levels with the product team
- Manage and assist with distribution of product
- Manage gross margins and product levels

Job Qualifications

- Previous retail buying experience required
- A comprehensive understanding of products carried by Zumiez
- Ability to understand trends in the footwear market and apply them to Zumiez
- Strong understanding of business math required
- Proficient in retail math
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to problem solve and think outside the box
- Minimum of 2 years of college AA or BA preferred
- Ability to communicate, motivate and lead by example
- Ability to work with a broad group of people
- Willingness to take on new challenges, learn new skills and produce results
