As a member of the senior management team, the eCommerce GM provides leadership and vision to drive The North Face eCommerce business. This position leads the execution of the most compelling online assortments and merchandising initiatives. Balance multiple competing priorities and maintain current profitability while establishing foundation for growth. Must be able to work with many cross functional teams and manage multiple agencies and team members to create the most compelling online merchandising presentations. Strong infrastructure and system understanding to keep the site development moving forward. Accountable for business results, profit & loss and executing key initiatives. Understanding of analytics that drive a successful business. Brings a solid track record in building and managing a successful business and proven experience in strategic eCommerce business. Establish control-related standards and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
- Years of Related Professional Experience: 15+.
- BA or BS degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Merchandising, Information Services or related field and 15+ years relevant and progressive experience and 7 years in management or senior management.
- Strong understanding of apparel merchandising and sales.

Skills:
- Seasoned senior merchant for vertically integrated retailer.
- Experience in managing a diverse and creative group of individuals and leading change. Demonstrated ability to work with and inspire a broad range of individuals to work toward a common goal.
- Must have a track record in building eCommerce business and establishing procedures, implementing processes and executing.
- Experience developing performance metrics.
- A strong track record of successful leadership.
- Experience with successfully managing large department budgets.
- Experience with web/catalog design.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Strong strategic and tactical skills, as well as technical skills to understand the eCommerce market in order to create demand and generate revenues.
- Intimate understanding of the creative process and have experience working with and evaluating creative products.
- Familiarity with web utilities, graphics programs, desktop applications and strong understanding of internet content management is a must.
- Strong execution focus and enjoy working in results-oriented environment.
- Successful experience and proven track-records with eCommerce, internet and web production as well as traditional product marketing and strategy experience.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee concept development, strategizing, planning, implementation, and coordinating of eCommerce initiatives. Initiate and direct the coordination of products throughout their lifecycle, from strategic definition to end-of life planning. Develop the product strategy for the company’s online services.
2. Continue to grow omnichannel strategies, architecture and infrastructure requirements to fulfill eCommerce business strategy. Keeps current with the latest eCommerce trends and technology to keep the site at the forefront and ahead of competition. Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and spearhead overall strategic positioning to follow industry trends and to keep a 'finger-on-the-pulse' of the customer base and competition.
3. Collaborate with respective departments on the integration of marketing, online, sales and advertising to develop multi-channel strategies and increase brand/product awareness. · Work with Digital Director and team to ensure qualified traffic is being driven to the website through search engine affiliate program management, shopping portals and other online programs. Strong understanding of the numerous channels that drive traffic and conversion · Increase conversion by maximizing loyalty programs. · Collaborate with web merchandising, design and development teams. · Collaborate with IT development on design, architecture and back-end solutions for enhanced site functionality in order to ensure that the overall brand strategy for the Company is translated online.
4. Partner with third-party vendors to identify and apply solutions for customer acquisition, conversion and website optimization.
5. Frame and map opportunities based on historical results & current trends to maximize sales. · Develop strategies to deliver financial plans (sales, margin, contribution, inventory turns). · Analyze sales and productivity of items and categories to communicate results and to create action plans. · Leads the merchandise process and calendar.
6. Partner with Finance, Marketing and Planning Department to forecast weekly/monthly sales, margins and review financial rollups.
