As a Senior Buyer in Soft Goods, you will be a strategic and tactical business partner with Product and Engineering. You will fully understand the product and business be Inquisitive and solution oriented. You can speak to the factories understand their processes and establish supplier relationships. You will have an excellent ability to connect and gain trust. This is a role that is fully integrated into product teams involving pro-active collaboration and communication with the entire team. You will be regarded as a 2nd chair in negotiations eventually evolving into the lead negotiator.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
• Track supplier performance through key indicators. Recommend and implement actions to improve vendor performance. Target of 95% on time or better
• Directly interfaces with soft goods product suppliers to assure a clear understanding of the product, quantity, price, terms MOQs / MODs, and shipping time
• Monitors project time lines, including designers, engineers and other cross functional groups to create bicycle products that deliver best in class cycling experiences to our customers. Goal is to consistently exceed expectations, on time and within budget
• Responsible for documenting and communicating the status of project timelines to all levels of the organization
• Interfacing with Product managers to understand products and anticipate potential supply chain issues
• Ensure timely delivery for all samples.
• Summer Dealer event / marketing / trade show / ERM support
• Managing orders/build for special build marketing projects

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN:
• Requires a minimum of 5+ years experience in an in-house purchasing department
• Prefer experience in bicycle or other consumer/recreation-related industry
• Requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in retail merchandising, consumer goods, or finished goods is required
• Outdoor equipment industry experience is preferred
• Excellent organization skills. Competent with time management, deadlines, multiple projects and the ability to handle frequent interruptions
• Proficient mechanical aptitude helpful
• Attitude that fosters continuous improvement
• Travel to Asian supply base about 4 times a year
• Self-motivated. Able to work with or without close supervision
• Excellent computer skills including Windows, Word and Excel
• Experience with Oracle a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Finance, or related field
