Sport Chalet is looking for an Allocation Analyst to join the team in La Canada, CA.
Position Summary:
The Allocation Analyst is responsible for analyzing selling trends and allocating merchandise to stores utilizing the Marketmax Allocation software program. This position reports directly to the VP of Planning and Allocation within the merchandising Division. We are looking for highly motivated individual who has a passion for the industry and lifestyle brand we promote. Success in this role could lead into a replenishment analyst role, or other roles within Merchandising or eCommerce.
Basic Experience:
The candidate selected for this position must be able to face the demands of a high volume, fast-paced merchandising department within a growing company. It is essential that, while working in various programs, the candidate selected have the ability to focus in a high traffic area while working on multiple tasks. Effectively communicating in both written and verbal form will be essential in this position. Being detail oriented while having a strong organizational background will ensure success in prioritizing and meeting deadlines. Experience with MS Office with an emphasis on Excel and Word is preferred. A considerate, pleasant demeanor along with experience successfully working with various personalities is crucial in this position.
Responsibilities:
• Execute allocation strategies by analyzing historical and current selling trends to maximize sales, inventory turnover and gross margin.
• Manage models and allocate product for a company-wide merchandise mix based on historical trends and seasonal plans utilizing the Marketmax allocation software.
• Analyze store product ownership and develop and execute inventory flow strategies on an ongoing basis.
• Set inventory levels to support sales plans analyze and adjust inventory levels on an ongoing basis.
• Identify and communicate “at risk” product work with Allocation Management to develop transfers, markdown and RTV strategies.
• Identify allocation and store model issues, variances and discrepancies, and work with Allocation Management to adjust methodologies.
• Perform size/selling analysis by store to support replenishment strategies and season-end performance.
• Manage new store assortment/set up ensure store inventory is filling as appropriate and communicate issues.
Qualifications:
This position will be Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM with additional hours as necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Able to work independently, self-starter
• Ability to follow through in timely manner detailed oriented
• Professional business acumen highly organized
• Demonstrates initiative on driving the business
• 2 years experience with Marketmax Allocation System, or equivalent, is preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Computer skills proficiency MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• 2 years of retail experience
