Position Summary:
The Design and Merchandising Intern will assist with daily tasks in the Merchandising Department. Internships are generally part-time for a 3-month duration. This internship may also be eligible for school credit depending on the individual school. It is the intern’s responsibility to fill out all necessary school paperwork and review it with their Manager. This is a part-time position located in the Irvine, CA office.
Essential Functions of this Role:
1. Building and maintaining design folders, artwork and technical packages
2. Create and update visual line sheets
3. Create workbook files
4. Help with fabric and trim submits for design tracking
5. Checking and receiving of salesmen samples
6. Gather styles for photo shoots and marketing needs
7. Moderate filing and hanging garments
8. Organize and distribute color library
9. Undertake additional special projects as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Skills Required:
• Must be currently enrolled in a design school or graduated in the design/merchandising field
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel
• Team Oriented
• Must have solid organizational skills, detailed, able to multi-task
• Creative, eye for design and color
Knowledge or interest in the action sports industry is a plus
Physical Requirements:
• May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time
• The ability to lift at least 35 pounds on occasion
Scheduling Requirements:
• Must be flexible and available to work occasional off-hours
• Must be available during standard business hours
