Boardworks Surf is looking for a Graphic Design and Marketing Assistant to join the team in Carlsbad, CA.

Located in north county San Diego, Boardworks is a global leader in the Stand Up Paddle and Surf Industries. We pride ourselves on creativity and teamwork and are searching for the right person to support our marketing and art director.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position covers the spectrum of graphic design and marketing assignments and requires a full set of creative skills and talents. The work involves it all, from catalog or brochure development and creation, ad production, through to photography, POP and product graphics, social media projects, writing and PR assignments. Boardworks is a fun and challenging place to work. The workload is intense and diverse. A strong WORK ETHIC is a must!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Design and development for main print marketing projects including ads, brochures, pop materials etc…
• Design and development for product packaging materials, hangtags, labeling, etc…
• Design and development for digital marketing and web site content features.
• Design and development of logos and graphics packages for new products.
• Development and execution of social media programs and campaigns.
• Design, production and delivery of email newsletters.
• Writing assignments including product descriptions, blog posts and press releases.
• Scheduling and distribution of press releases.
• Image production, organization and distribution.
• Managing requests and executing creation and delivery of marketing assets for retail partners, distributors, sales reps, media, and other partners.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have very strong graphic design background and experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress and HTML.
• Basic photography skills a must.
• Must have excellent written communication skills ability to write, edit and proof read projects.
• Must be highly creative, organized, and efficient.
• Knowledge of the surf and outdoor industry a plus.
• Must have strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have the ability to think outside the box and create unique industry leading graphics and ideas.
• Must be willing to take direction, critiquing and make revisions as necessary.
