Brooks Internship Program:

Brooks Running hosts summer internships at our Seattle HQ offices to provide hands-on, meaningful work experience to further enhance your education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real work, and projects while working side by side with Brooks employees and leadership. If chosen for this role, you will join a cohort of interns at Brooks and embark on a summer of learning, professional development, and exposure to the Brooks brand and culture.

Details:

Duration: 3 months

Dates: Start dates will align for both quarter and semester students. May/June - August/September 2024

Location: Seattle, HQ

Schedule: 40 hours / week

This Opportunity:

Our North America (NA) Footwear Merchandising Team is a seeking a Merchandising Intern to work at our Seattle HQ offices. You will be part of the NA Footwear Merchandise team, which is responsible for delivering the seasonal inline and Merchandise Runner Assortments (MRA) to win with runners in North America. You will look at consumer trends and leverage data to understand the needs and wants of the runner to deliver the most winning combination of products to the market. You will also work closely with the design, development, color and trend teams as well as the product line merchandisers.

You will gain exposure to how we utilize competitor data/insights as part of understanding the market landscape to help inform seasonal decisions. A key focus for this opportunity is to support the Footwear Competitive Analysis by helping to create a new process for the cadence of updates to incorporate runner feedback. You will research and provide suggestions on both how and when we incorporate runner feedback into the competitor analysis. You will shadow and receive mentorship from the NA Merchandising Team and work on projects designed to not only update our current competitive analysis but also define a long term plan for how we sustainably continue to infuse the runner feedback into the analysis.

Your Impact (Responsibilities):
! Contribute to the creation of a process for the merchandising team to update our cadence of change within our Footwear Competitive Analysis.
! Create a calendar and process to help streamline the cadence of updates needed to keep the Competitor Analysis up to date.
! Incorporate a new part of our Analysis focused on runner reviews, feedback, and narratives on our product as well as our competitors.
! Receive mentorship from key NA Merchandisers and Product Line Managers to understand their roles and impact to the broader business.
! Gain industry and organizational knowledge and hands-on footwear merchandising experience through daily business interactions and assignments.
! Learn directly from experienced co-workers, managers and leaders with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous professional fields.
! Experience on-the-job training through real work projects, displaying how your academic experience translates to the professional environment.
! Build connections with a network of professionals, managers, and leaders.
! Provide analytical support to inform leadership decision-making on projects.
! Participate in weekly team meetings and other group meetings.
! Interact with various business partners that span across Brooks and present the results of your project at the end of your internship.

Project:
! As a part of your experience as an intern at Brooks, you will have the opportunity to complete a project under the support and supervision of your manager. Details of your project will be finalized once you arrive at Brooks based on your interests, and the needs of the business. You will present your work and findings to leadership at Brooks at the end of your internship, to hone in on your research, recommendation, and presentation skills.

Skills & Qualifications:
! Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Management or a related field
! Willing to commit to the intern position for three months onsite in Seattle, WA
! Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience.
! Able to commit to up to 40 hours a week to be physically present at HQ.
! Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
! Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
! Strong organizational skills.
! Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
! Must be able to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
