If you have never watched a race in your life, this job is probably not for you, but if you love the smell of burning gas and rubber, you keep up with technology and know how to work your Mac, you love design and can name all of your favorite drivers and teams, you will love working here. It is crucial to be familiar with the styles and trends in motorsports in order to best perform the required duties.

Simpson Performance Products is a 50 year old racing safety manufacturer founded in 1959 and is one of the oldest and largest racing safety companies in the world. Our products are featured in racing series all across America and the globe.

The Simpson brand is seen all across the range of television programming from racing events in Nascar, Indy Car, NHRA drag racing, Traxxas TORC, Lucas Oil Off Road, American LeMans, to commercials for corporate sponsors such as Home Depot, Subway, Office Depot, FedEx, UPS, etc. We manufacture a complete line of racing safety products: helmets, driver fire-suits, gloves, Nomex underwear, shoes, harness-restraints, drag-parachutes, and more.

Our potential job candidate should possess a working
knowledge of at least some forms of motorsports, the more the better.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and edit renderings for Drivers and Crew uniforms: Driver / Crew fire-suits and Pit-Crew shirts

- Design original trim layouts for fire-suits offered as one offs for teams and our standard suit designs offered in our annual catalog

- Work with embroidery and sublimation departments to deliver files that are workable

- designing catalogues, POPS, mailers, flyers, etc..

EXPERIENCE
- BA or AA in Graphic Design from an art school or college with a solid design program

- 2 yrs plus - apparel/printing/action-sports, etc...

- ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP, INDESIGN, all Adobe Creative Suite programs on Macintosh OSX platform

- Use of Wacom drawing tablets

- Art skill a plus- ie: drawing, conceptualizing, etc...

- Typography, and an overall understanding of design, with a sense of personal style..

COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of dye sublimation and large format printing is helpful, but will train

- Versatility, flexibility, communication and common sense

- Hard work ethic, not simply clock in at 8 and out at 4

- Must be willing to work the hours needed in order to get the job done during our busy season which runs typically from November through March (in between racing seasons)
