The Global Planner is responsible for seasonal global sales and inventory planning for Kids & Workwear Business Units. They will evaluate current sales trends, sales history, company marketing initiatives and the competitive landscape to build accurate pre-season demand and inventory plans by region and review in-season sales forecasts for select product categories, ensuring alignment to the Business Unit strategy and in support of the Product Financial Plan.  The Global Planner will provide insights regarding product sales trends, sales opportunities, inventory risk and the state of the global business to the Business Unit Finance Lead, leadership and relevant cross-functional partners. 

What You’ll Do
Build and manage pre-season sales and inventory plans by region to provide accurate style and color plans to support Product Financial Plans.

Consolidate, interpret and analyze Regional in-season plans for risks and opportunities, making recommendations for necessary adjustments relative to strategic initiatives and inventory positions.

Work closely with Regional planning teams to identify and communicate sales opportunities and inventory risks. 

Participate in pre-season assortment planning process to assess product costs, anticipated margins, volumes, and retail prices to ensure the financial viability of the product line.

Consolidate plans on a global basis by working with international regional planning teams

Perform analysis on current inventory and future receipts, providing recommendations to maximize sales and profitability.

Develop and maintain weekly, monthly and seasonal performance reporting as needed, leveraging Company-supported tools.

Work with Supply Planning to address and recommend actions on excess and unallocated inventory. 

Identify opportunities to create process improvement and efficiencies.

Present findings and operational results cross-functionally.

Ad hoc reporting and projects as required.

Experience You Bring
College degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of merchandise planning/demand forecasting/ buying experience.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Working knowledge of personal computers with experience in the use of such programs as Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel, database, and reporting tools (i.e. Tableau/Power BI) required. Experience with 7th Online, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and/or TM1 a plus.

Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize workload.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Extreme attention to detail.

Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.

Must be a self-starter with ability to work in a collaborative environment.


Hiring range: $125,000-$135,000
Pay range: $113,120-$169,680

At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
