Role mission

The GUCCI Retail Associate Director for the WEST Area is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the overall retail operations and business performance within the designated geographical region. Reporting to the Retail Senior Vice President, this position plays a crucial role in developing and executing retail strategies, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and achieving revenue targets. The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen with a deep understanding of the luxury fashion industry to lead and inspire the retail teams in delivering unparalleled results.

Key accountabilities
Retail Strategy and Leadership:
Collaborate with the Retail Senior VP to develop and implement a comprehensive retail strategy for the WEST Area that aligns with GUCCI's brand values and business objectives.
Lead and manage a team of Store Managers and Retail Associates, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure consistent adherence to GUCCI's standards of excellence.
Foster a culture of teamwork, high performance, and exceptional customer service across the region.
Business Performance:
Drive sales growth and profitability by closely monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing action plans to address areas of improvement.
Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competition to identify growth opportunities and recommend strategic initiatives.
Ensure effective inventory management, including stock replenishment, allocation, and merchandising to optimize product availability and visual presentation.
Customer Experience:
Maintain a deep understanding of customer preferences and expectations to ensure the delivery of personalized and memorable shopping experiences.
Implement best practices in customer engagement, ensuring that the GUCCI brand promise is consistently communicated and upheld.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the operational aspects of multiple retail locations, including staffing, scheduling, training, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless execution of retail initiatives.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the annual budget for the WEST Area, allocating resources effectively to support business objectives and achieve financial targets.
Monitor expenses, revenue performance, and other financial metrics, taking proactive measures to optimize resource allocation.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present regular performance reports to the Retail Senior VP, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and develop actionable strategies.
Requirements - Key behavioral competencies - basics
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Proven track record of successful leadership in luxury retail, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in progressively responsible roles.
Strong understanding of the fashion industry, luxury market dynamics, and consumer behavior trends.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative retail strategies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with retail management software is advantageous.
Flexibility to travel within the designated region as needed.
Multilingual abilities are an asset.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead teams to achieve exceptional results.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
